Recently my water heater flooded out and had to be replaced, for at least 07 years I've been paying approximately $8.00 a month for warranty service. The company contracted with home serve Carlong Plumbing came and confirmed that the water heater had to be replace. I was told that Home Serve contact is from year to year at a coverage cost of $850.00 and that I would have to pay out of pocket $1000.00 extra to replace the water heater.

I was shock not knowing that home serve not only just cover $850.00 year by year and since I refused to pay total of $1850.00 for a new water heater. I also asked what would be the warranty on a new water heater if I did agree to have Carlong Plumbing replace it and was told only one year. I also ask to have the $850.00 sent directly to me to buy and find cheaper service repair

and was told only home serve contractor could serve the job. The lowest water heater cost is about $600.00 with at least a 6 year warranty.

My initial read of this letter is that it is marketed very well and seems like a reasonable fee, considering all the burst pipes in Texas after the 5 day sub-zero freezing temps in Feb 2021. It is $71.88 annually or $17.97 a quarter or $5.99 a mo. However, after visiting consumer reports and reading up on these types of services, I learned that the breakage they are referring to is a rare occurrence, and is already covered by homeowners insurance AND my home warranty.

It's written with a bit of scare, that I could face 1000s of dollars to replace my line if it breaks, but in reading the company info of others who filed claims, it has limited coverage. So, if you have no homeowners insurance or home warranty, this coverage would cover a few limited situations. I will stick with my home warranty and homeowners insurance.

I took out a warranty with Homeserve USA introduce to me by American Eletric Power. This warranty stated that homeowners are responsible for repairing or replacing the line. My waterline broke June 4, 2016. I called HomeServe on that day, a plumber came out. His finding was the issue is inside of the house which is Interior. I am not covered for interior only Exterior. I was not made aware of Interior waterline service from this company until the line broke. I call the city to shut the water off from the street on June 6, 2016 the last day that I have had running water. The city came out on August 2, 2016 their finding was the leak is Exterior. On August 12, 2016 a plumber from HomeServe contracting came out again. He stated the leak is in Interior. I have came to the conclusion that this company does want to fix my water. How was I suppose to know that my home was builted on part of the waterline. This is what HomeServe is telling me. I never recieved anything from HomeServe stating that I needed an Interior warranty. Please help ME. I am 68 years of age. I have been lifting water cooler jugs 8 of them per day and paying people for water and to transport it to me.

We had sewer line back-up into our house. We paid to have it examined and line cleared. The camera showed blockage and multiple breaks in the sewer line.

We have had HomeServe exterior sewer/septic line service agreement for over a year. In the Terms and Conditions document for exterior sewer/septic it states: "We will arrange and pay for the repair or replacement of a leaking or permanently blocked Exterior Sewer Service Line ..supporting a Residential Property, for which You have sole responsibility."

Per the agreement, we called HomeServe to tell that we had a leaking line. The agreement says" Every part of your covered repair is taken care of for you--from finding a qualified technician to coordinating repairs. All you have to do is call the 24-hour Repair Hotline number. It's that simple."

They sent a technician from another company who confirmed that there was a break in the line. (Both my husband and I saw the companies' video and saw the breaks.) He did not go past the first break as he was worried his camera was going to get caught in the hole. He confirmed that waste from our house would leak from that hole.

My husband called HomeServe while the Apollo Plumbing tech was here and put the tech on the line. HomeServe person heard for herself that the pipe leaked and had a break.

My husband has spent hours on the phone having each HS person he has talked to tell him that they would not cover the problem. Evidently, the next time we get sewage backing up into our house, they might pay for it however.

Why does HS not abide by the serivce agreement "arrange and pay for the repair or replacement of a leaking or permanently blocked Exterior Sewer Service Line" when we have documentation from two different companies of the leaking line??
