The sales person, Carlton, made all these verbal promises of being able to cancel within 30 days, of being better than other lead generating companies like Zillow. He stated they were the best; yes, they are the best at not holding their end of the bargain. Carlton stated that the call was being recorded and when I asked them to replay the conversation between us, all of a sudden they could not locate the phone call. They asked was the promise written down. Really??? Produce the recording, I can prove what you said.
They did not produce what they said they were going to produce and then they did a "bait and switch" and changed the terminology from "leads" to "views". I also found out that I was not being advertised 24/7 a day; it was only when THEY felt like promoting me. Not good!!
When I requested cancellation, they sent me to various people trying to change my mind, asking me to give them more time to produce and at the same time, trying to collect payment instead of correcting the problem FIRST!! I told them that if I can get one reaI reputable lead, it would be not problem; I never got any reputable leads.
The lead concierge was a hoax and as a non-existent concierge I refused to pay for a service not provided and they could never admit that they FAILED to come through. I have no problems paying for service but you cannot scam me AND expect me to continue paying for the DECEPTION.
Fraudulent services. Services outlined in the contract did not meet what was received. Company would not issue a refund.
Originally spoke to sales rep, (6/24/2019) Nehemiah Negron and entered into a three month contract to receive leads from Homes.com website of buyers looking at listings in the MLS with Agent compensation.
What I received was leads from buyers looking to buy mobile homes with no agent compensation. It would be fine if it was one or two leads, but 18 of the 20 leads provided were interested in mobile homes with no agent compensation. Per the contract, the buyers were to come from MLS listings with agent compensation. These leads came from a third party aggregator called ListHub, where anyone can pay a flat fee to list their home on the Homes.com website.
Not only were these leads junk, they were a complete waste of time since no agent compensation was offered for working with these buyers. I brought this to Homes.com attention after the first month and the promised the leads would get better. They did not.
After the second month I asked they to cancel my contract and not to charge me for the final month of the contract as the leads/services received were not what was outlined in the original contract/services offering. They agreed and I received a cancellation notice on 8/13/2019.
However, on 8/24/2019, I was charged another $800.28 the third installment of the three-month contract. I called Homes.com and requested a refund based on our agreement to cancel on 8/13. I was not asking for a refund for the previous two months (although I feel I deserve one, since the services promised were not what was delivered) I just requested a refund on the third installment since they agreed to cancel due to misrepresentation of the leads/services delivered.
Since 8/24/2019 I have left multiple emails and phone calls with the company seeking a refund. The only person to call me back was a Jennifer Ross, Customer Success Specialist, who apologized for the services and leads to date and tried to sell me on several other programs offered by Homes.com. After multiple emails and telephone conversations, I told her I just wanted a refund on the last month since they agreed not to change me and to be done with Homes.com.
Since that date 8/26/2019 I have had no communication with Homes.com. I have sent eight emails and left countless phones calls for someone in a supervisory role to please call me back. No response from Homes.com
This company is a total scam and very unprofessional. My hope is this complaint will deter other agents from signing up for their services.
Talked me into a six month contract, at $100/mth, and just about guaranteed I would receive more real estate leads than I could handle. Actually I received maybe five leads in three months which were all bogus. Quit paying because I was not getting anywhere near the quality nor quantity the salesman promised me. Now because I owe them about $200 they have taken me to collection.
I advertised my services as a realtor and was billed twice for the same geographical area. Tried to get a refund and stop the double billing but no answers to my emails and was never able to correct account through their accounting department. Was not allowed to talk to anyone in the company except the employee who answered the call. Ask to speak to a supervisor since they would not transfer me to accounting. Supervisor busy would call back but never received a return call.
Got few leads for my advertising but realize that is a crap shoot.
I signed up for advertising a home for sale on 8/31/17 and after three weeks of zero leads, I requested that my account be closed with a written e-mail. I paid that first month of $89.95 and figured all was done. However, they sent me a bill in last September for the following month. I put in a second request to close my account in writing on 10/2/17 but they still did not. I could not access my on line account and could not receive any support from Homes.com when I requested it. I put in a third written request to have by account closed on 10/16/17 yet it is still active, even though I have no access to my account on line, nor have I received one lead from my brief three week period that I used the account. They told me I could cancel anytime yet after three requests, they are still billing me. They are a scam and don't waste your money. They provice no customer support, give false statements and falsely sign you up for a service you did not agree to. Don't make the mistake I made by trying their lead generation site, it is a waste of your time and money.
Homes.com charges Real Estate Agents to buy zip codes where they can appear in home searches and have customers contact them. I have spent $167 for 4 months in a row and have had 3 people contact me and they either had invalid contact info or no real interest in buying homes. It is a total ripoff and they are basically stealing my money every month. They lock you into a 6 month contract and refuse to let you out no matter how poor of a service they provide. Stay away from this company fellow Realtors!
I spoke with Noelle Stewart from Homes.com and she told me that for $65.00 a month for six months I would average 6-10 leads a month. I have received 2 in 4 months. I have been in constant touch with her to get a refund and to stop payments. All she did was referr me to someone else in CancelHomes.com to only be sent a form letter as to how they can not help with no leads being sent.
Since then, I have found out what a scam this company is and does not uphold their side of the agreement and make empty statements to Realtors to solicit our business.
A friendly Homes.com sales rep called me and told me about all the leads I could get for only $100/month! Sign me up I said! The billing began, but no leads. I called to cancel and was told it was a 6 month contract. OK, I made a $600 scam mistake. Then I notice the credit card keeps getting billed after 6 months. I call to cancel the charge. NO CAN DO! It automatically renewed and now I'm obligatyed for another $600. I call and the support rep said, don't worry, I'll correct it. Now, 2 months later I'm still being billed. I call again. SORRY, you are now paying $1oo/month until March! We can't cancel your contrat. Support red was rude and raised her voice. COMPLETE RIP OFF. HOMES.COM ADVERTISING IS A TOTAL SCAM. BEWARE!
Homes.com sales agents promises many things to get your business. In the end they have not delivered as promised. Seems their sales department only objective is to get you to sign up, then enforce worthless contract. When I requested to cancel within hours of signing with them they refused and promised great things will happen. I still requested cancellation but they ignore request. The manager even admits the sales agent may have mis spoken but they will not honor her words. Nothing has happened, no leads, not exposure told (100%), and 3 month contract. They may promise you leads but the fact is they do not guarantee leads, they are an advertising platform. In my short term to date I have received zero leads.
Bottom line they are not a company to be trusted in my opinion.
As a Remax agent it made sense to purchase a zipcode through this company as they are already a internet home page for agents. I contacted the sales team to move forward and gave them all my information. However, once I made the initial payment the receipt showed up with incorrect address and phone numbers for me.
I discovered how incompetent the sales person was after payment due to constant information not being input correctly, such as company address, phone numbers etc. Then his manager tried to help me but said the reason he was having trouble was because the zipcode I wanted to purchase wasn't available. Then what did I just pay for?
Turned out she was just as confused as he was. I sent a letter that I just didn't have confidence in the company and I wanted to cancel in the 48 hour period that is required if you want a refund. As a basic accounting strategy for many of us that have A/R experience, it is customary to file a dispute of the charge, list the reason with the bank that you requested a refund and not have to think about it again.
Approximately 75 days later I am still dealing with wanting to have the bank reimbursed for my disputed charge I received.
Two different persons;, Erin Lewis and Christine told me that I would get my refund. Then I received a call from Antoine Person stating that he would have given me my refund but because I filed the dispute and caused a chargeback to his company that his hands were tied and couldn't help me.
Antoine Person said, "The buck stops here, you will not get to speak to anyone else regarding this and I'm doing you a favor calling you, I don't have too."
So basically, I didn't receive the 30 days of service, nor did I receive training from their website person, and to be honest that guy enjoyed listening to himself talk.
Regardless of the contract, as a consumer, I DIDN'T GET TO UTILIZE THE PRODUCT!
Basically, HOMES.COM will not refund your money even if they show you in many different actions that they may not be competent.
It's $131.11, apparently they need every penny and are happy with ripping people off. I deserve my refund like I was told by 2 others and Antoine. It was about his ego that I didn't get it.
HUGE RIP OFF, they claim that they are superior to Zillow as they have leads that are ready to buy, they state they have a series of qualifying questions that assure at least 3 solid leads per month. They do no such thing, I was very displeased with their service and told them I wanted out of the contract as they have not performed their contractual duties. They contineud to charge my account, they will not put you in touch with a supervisor. After I saw that they continued to charge my account I called them back, they simply behave robotically and repeat the same responses hoping to wear you down. I am so shocked that they would be permitted to continue to stay in business. If anyone wants to start legal action against this company I would be happy to join in the cause. They are a serious dissappointment!!!!
Homes.com Total RipOff - Beware of them trying to sell you on local connect. All you get is a bunch of renters calling. They also send weird phone numbers or leads with disconnecting phone number.
Try to cancel the first month, no return phone or no one try to solve the issue til they charge me the fourth months.
Eevery months charges for $340/months
I finally block the charges on my credit card and now they send me to collection agency and treathing me that I will call the collection agent regarding claim when I need to buy a car etc
I am a Real estate agent. Run They promise a lead service then tell you its a impression advertisement. I pulled out after two weeks of silence not one lead. I was told I would get about 15 a month and suspected trouble. I did get a refund. I felt completely misled.
Total Scam! Real estate agents do not waste your time and hard earned money using Homes.com. They promised lots of good leads for people who want to buy homes. All I got was a few phone calls from people who wanted to rent a home. Then they put you on a renewal for 6 months without telling me and billed me for 6 months ahead of time. I called and emailed them several times and they would not respond. Finally, after complaining for several days I got a customer service representative to inform me they rejected my claim. Let this serve as a warning to all real estate agents throughout the U.S. that Homes.com is a total and complete 100% Rip-Off!
Homes.com promises leads and 100% advertisement on all listings in a praticular zip code for up to 3 real estate agents. So they promise if a consumer searched for a home in that particular zip code, you will be one of three agents that pops up for people to call on that listing. This is a LIE! If you are a real estate agent - do not give them a penny - you will get no leads and they will harrass you for payment after you cancel your account. I paid promptly every month until I cancelled my account. They then continued to charge me and emailed me saying I couldn't cancel my account.... after one of their representatives told me over the phone that my account was cancelled. I had to have my credit card company block them from being able to charge my credit card. I'm still getting harrassed by email by homes.com billing department. These people are relentless... and all of this for Zero leads. Do not use this web site service.... because you will get nothing out of it. They are terrible mean people that will try to suck the life out of you.
