I worked at Homegrown Manufacturing as a seamstress paid per piece. I was promoted to supervisor with a $4 raise on top of my piece rate. They have a quota system of $12 per hour. For reasons beyond my controll sometime I fell short of my quota. I also put in lots of overtime. As a result of failing my quota I was not paid the raise or my piecerate. They would not even tell me I found out by looking at my check stub which I had to ask for several times before i got it. Several times we were paid late with hot checks. They would not even order checks we were paid with temp checks which are difficult to cash. I also believe that my boss did not pay the taxes they deducted from my check or any taxes for any of the employees. I will have to wait untill January 31 to find out. I have asked for my missing check stubs and my sewing logs to see how far off quota i was.
No cooperation. Several times I would arrive at work and have to wake up the owners to get let in. One time I had to wait two hours! Sometimes they would send texts to us in the morning sorry girls no work today We have to drive to Dallas. I guess I am lucky because I did receive my last check (minimum wage) because some employees did not. Speaking with other employees I did learn they were promised higher wages and then not paid.
