Do yourself a favor, and don't get involved with these shysters. They treat their employees like their second class citizens. I had the unfortunate opportunity to see how this outfit operates first hand being hired to build a 13 ft. display for their showroom. Then spent 3 weeks building cabinets and shelves for these crooks and was never paid a dime. I have cases pending against them with the Az. Corporation Commission, and the National Labor Relations Board. I never got a reason why they refused to pay for the cabinets they asked me to build so I'll just assume because their greedy and cheap and Brandon likes to screw workmen out of their wages. It became a daily occurrence listening to Brandon arguing on the phone with either a disgruntled worker or an unsatisfied client. They'll do and say just about anything to get a potential client hooked into their sales pitch then it all goes downhill from there. They'll make promises they just can't deliver. The simple truth is Brandon and his father Danny don't give a s*%t about any clients much less about anyone actually doing work for them. Their all about maximizing profit at the expense of workers and clients both. While working at their showroom i was told they couldn't pay me the wages I wanted because it would be coming out of their pocket and there was no way to pass it on to a client. When they asked me to build a picture frame for a mirror they were unable to describe it in words and until I drew an isometric and section view did I have any idea what they wanted. The components left their showroom freshly mitered and square cut. when they were sanded and painted in the field the edges were rounded over and the blame was directed back to me.
I was given a simplistic single page plan view the sales people had made in which to build two base cabinets. There was only two useable dimensions on it and one would have to be picked.because they both depicted the same location and were 2" off from one another. I made a drawing confirming their dimension they chose as correct. They approved my drawing confirming that we were on the same page. Then well into the construction they said the cabinet should be in fact the alternative dimension directing the responsibility back on me. Completely disregarding the confirmation drawing I sent them.
They added a center divider to the cabinet and now the face frame doors, and box all needed time spent again on their construction.
I was then informed there were 10 shelves included in this project and sent a drawing with exact dimensions exactly what I was going to build and their designer texted back "PERFECT". When I showed up with the shelves exactly as my drawing they said "Oh they are supposed to be in a open face cabinet". I might as well sent them a picture of a duck. All these issues were a result of lack of accurate communication on Holtzman and his staff and added significant additional time to this job. For Holtzman to refuse these cabinets on delivery is unethical as a business who requested their construction and criminal in the hardship caused me. It shows the way in which Holtzman handles problems .Which in remodeling there are plenty.
Attempts to collect whats owned me which includes 3 days of unpaid work at their showroom and the money and time invested in this twin cabinet job. Have been answered with Brandon telling me he's represented by a lawyer. Then blocking my email so all of my correspondence is returned unopened. I confided to their superintendent that If they thought the cabinets cost to much I was willing to negotiate the cost thus avoiding the present situation. I was told they would be having them built again by someone else. At this point you can imagine where I'd like to put Holtzman's cabinets. Brandon's excuse for not accepting the cabinets will likely be a of an inferior quality and its his decision what is used in his remodels. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the two cabinets I built despite all the unnecessary changes they've gone through. Why would cabinets built by the same individual who has work on display at their showroom suddenly have his craftsmanship questioned? When the cheap-a** Holtzman owners decided they weren't squeezing every last nickle out of this remodel and completely disregarding any harm their decision might cause me.I thought it was odd when they hardly looked at the cabinets spending more of the time checking the invoice instead. It was obvious what was important to them. The cabinets are still in my pickup available for any ones inspection and would be happy to include photos i have never needed or wanted to post a review on anything or any one, but thought people deserve to know what they could be dealing with choosing Holtzman Home Improvement as a contractor or as an employer..
Holztman home improvement is a dissaster waiting to happen. nothing but lies and excuses.
VERY unorganized co. that will take your money and not follow through with there promises. the contracts they use are 100% for the company. Zero protection for the consumer. (have your attorney read it 1rst before signing) they claim 5 yr warranty. but contract says different story. As they told me .... (we are not used to the customers reading the contract). Dah...
once they get your $$ you better hang on and pray . the contract calls for NO REFUNDS AFTER 72 HOURS!!
if they break anything at your home they wont cover the costs
if you do decide to use them (not recommended) you better take some time off work to watch over there shoulders.
the job may not turn out the way you expected it too.
