First the good. If you have insurance, they will fly you in and as long as you do everything they ask, fly you out as long as your insurance pays.
Unfortunately for me, heavy drinking caused some internal issues to the point where I had to go to the hospital in the middle of the night due to severe hemmarhoids. The local hospital gave me some pain medication and some rest but I was sent back to the housing unit about 7am the next morning. I couldnt move nor could I sit down, anyone who has had hemmorhoids knows when they are extremely inflamed, it is a night mare. Anyway, since they empty the housing area out with tech's, you cant stay behind because there is no one there to watch you so they wanted me to take the bus ride to the facility which is a half hour in a van with some really foul mouthed kids who basically lack all human dignity.
I refused. One of the techs had to stay behind and boy did they b***h at me. They tossed me that night without a plane ticket home. After getting myself back to PA, I went to a local proctologist who told me that I was profusely bleeding through my rectum and it wasnt just the hemmorhoid. Turns out, they only give you a limited amount of money to shop for your own food (you cook all of your own meals and they take you shopping once a week, when your not paying attention, people will enter your room and steak your food), I thought a great way of saving money would be to get peanuts. Well, when your digestive systems is not used to bulky foods because your main calories are drink, you wont digest as well as you normally would. Needless to say, all of these un-digested peanuts tore my sphincter up which my proctologist told me required laser treatmen just to cauterize the 3 areas where I tore the lining.
HRS has no medical staff. The inmates run the asylum and some of those inmates are having relationships with young girls who still act like drug addicts, these inmates disguise themselves as Techs onsite at the housing unit.
Your a dollar sign here, nothing more. I even heard people worked out cash deals with staff to stay longer if their insurance paid, so they could walk out with money.
Check out the owners car if you think he does this out of the goodness of his heart. This guy cant be 35 yet an he is driving around in 200k sportscars while the patients stay in a dump that at best was a motel with a gate in a terrible neighborhood.
We found this online thinking it would be different from the rest of treatment centers in South Florida since it was known for Holistic Treatment. Don't let the name and website fool you. My son arrived & he was shocked with the apartments and location.. Horrible neighborhood and the apartments are worse than a 1 star hotel. They do offer a host of treatment modalities but unfortunately HRC hasn't hired the right staff to provide solid treatment. You can make the building look aesthetically pleasing but if you don't have the right staff to execute you basically have a nice spa like environment until you go back to the awful apartments. Before you give your $$$/insurance I would absolutely make sure you know what your getting yourself/family into. There are so many better treatment facilities that aren't in it for the $$$/profit. I'm writing so you and your family members are warned of the scam this place is and will continue to be in Miami. They will sell you on amenities but really all they have is a nice building and the people running it are true scam artists. You've been warned... Concerned Mom
MY SON tried to leave and they wouldn't give his belongings back for 72 hours (no phone, $$, medications) The location is so bad and he was left on the side of the road like a lost puppy dog until he was able to make contact with someone outside of the building to get in touch with us. He's human and realized that this wasn't the type of treatment he was looking for and thus wanted to leave.. Can you imagine.. they don't tell you these things when you're desperate looking for help.
