Took my wife and 2 year old to look at a used RV, wanted to go home and think about it but with all the pressure provided by the friendly sales person we caved, bought the thing thinking it was going to be great.
First problem i had was when i got home and found the paper work from the original owner only to find out their "sale price" for the RV was what the original owner paid brand new off the lot, now almost 3 years ago!
A couple of weeks later i was looking around and realized the front two tires were worn down almost past the tread on the inside of both, signs of it needing an alignment or possibly front end work. After calling Chevrolet to find out what was covered in the warranty (the sales person assured me we had before buying) i found out the van chasis was actually 2013, NOT 2014. It was sold to us as a 2014, turns our the camper was 2014 but the Chevy part is 2013, so deduct a year off what was presumably left on the factory warranty.
Called HW sales guy and have got no where, they say it was inspected and sold so we're SOL on the deal.
It just makes me sad, I sat there and told him we were going to take the thing across the country on our first trip and they let us leave out of there like we were good to go. Under the current conditions we could have had a flat and a wreck and they could care less.
Basically the sales guy, Frankie Aguiar told us what whatever we wanted to hear to get us to buy the RV and sign the paper-work prior to leaving. He even told us we would get about 12-13 mpg though he had never even driven one himself, everywhere i've looked thus far we're going to be doing good if we get 10.
I even went so far as to tell him what a bad experience we had when we bought a used car and didn't see the scratch down the side panel, he assured me they weren't like that. No they weren't, they just let us leave with a potentially life threatening problem, not just a cosmetic one.
It makes me wonder what else could be wrong if they would let us leave with it with such and obvious problem (that i should have seen)
I also found out there is a factory recall on getting the transmission reprogrammed, should be an easy fix though.
Do yourself a favor and google them, look around if you don't believe me, you'll see the other horror stories we should have seen prior to doing business with these slimballs.
