The Hilton charged us $660 for a 17% loan they knew we were going to pay off right away, on Christmas Eve. Why would we pay $660 for a loan we wanted to payOff? We were told we had 14 days to find a home equity and that it would be no problem. Neither of our banks do home equity, so we faxed cancelation. Appearantly, the fax didn't go through on the 31st, so I resent it the 2nd. We didn't hear back for over a week, I called and was told it was being processed for cancelation. Then they salesperson called me and said we were past the 5 day cancelation period. I looked at the fin print and he was right even those 5 days include Christmas, a long flight home, jet lag, and New Years prep. No heart and all business.
