Very sad. So when you pay this much money for a dog you expect the dog to be clean, healthy, and very well cared for.... What I got was a 10 month old puppy covered in dog poop, smelled horrible, had an ear infection, ends of ears cut off from being in a fight (and neck bites), walks odd (hip x-rays in process), and to top it all off upon vet visit found out the puppy had heart worms! I should have walked away immediately but I had put down a deposit and had really felt sorry for her. 10 months old - you would expect socialization, house trained, etc. What you get is a dog with no manners, pees and poops everywhere, etc. I know dogs in new environments have trouble but this is much, much different. The health guarantee basically you have to return the dog and you get your money back - really? How about you return our money to help pay for vet bills that are needed !!! Yes, return dog to breeder and basically condemn it to death because heartworm treatment is expensive....so that won't be done....what a miserable death.... I would not bother with this breeder, find someone who actually ensures puppies are healthy before selling. From what I experienced - paying a lot of money for a dog does not mean you get a better dog, just a ton of vet bills. I should have suspected something when I was not allowed an onsite visit. Any dog we have purchased we have always been allowed onsite for a visit - then you can see the conditions and how the dogs are treated, how they interact, etc. Absolutely horrible!!!
I contacted this breeder in hopes of purchasing a Newfoundland puppy from her. Found a female we wanted and explained to the breeder I did not want a certain kennel name and explained my issue with my other Newfoundland. I did not and do not want to have the same issue. Yes it is true it may never be an issue, but just be cautious. SO also asked for unlimitrd pedigree as we might want to breed her down the road and had to pay more for that.
So I got the puppy and paperwork. It has the name of the kennel I did not want. Puppy was extremely thin, coughing, bloddy diarrhea and very rough coat. was not fit for sale.
At 14wks the puppy weighed 15.7lbs and per standard for the breed should be between 40-60lbs. When I question the breeder on the size her reply was hers run small and weigh 30lbs. Well 15 is a lot smaller and different than 30lbs.
So vet suggested labs to be done and they came back that red cell and protein levels were bad and that she is is early signs of kidney disease.
Breeder nor transporter wanted to accept responsibilty on the condition of the pup.
Buyer beware.
I do have all documentation and notes and messages in the case anyone wants to see them. I have nothing to hid and was upfront with what I wanted. Breeder was unethical and hid information.
Received Newfoundland puppy in very poor health. Very mean spirited at first. Observed deplorable travel conditions for puppy. Courier was a disgusting human being. Puppy was covered in urine and immediately needed a bath. Had rampant diarrhea. Took to vet next day after delivery. Bone meal in intestinal tract, ear infection, tumor on paw, dehydrated and other conditions which I have since forgotten. Took months and months to heal her and almost a year to house train her because of ill health. A second tumor on her chin had to be removed. Thousands of dollars in vet bills. Still has very sensitive digestive system and related problems.
Tara blankenship is a freud. She falsely put my dogs name into her name with AKC, and refuses to hand my papers over!. I org sold the dog to someone else and bought him back, thr person i sold him to never gave or sold the dog to tara, she found his papers and b/c of some issues going on bet the both ,tara falsely put my dog into her name. I have all the bill.of sale, emails, etc and the person who i sold him to word. akc has been contacted n she may be losing all her breedings rights, i tried talking to tara in which she was nasty n blocked me. She said she would not hand over his papers til her "issues" with the other person were settled, which has nothing to do with me or her right to steal papers. I advise anyone to stay away from her, if she stolr my dogs papers who knows if her dogs are truly akc reg with thr right papers.
