The owner Irla Honorata is very dishonest and takes advantage of new ownero-perators. She has refused to pay invoices on more than $10,000 for services rendered, most of which was performed over a month ago, although by law she is required to pay with 15 days. She is operating an illegal brokerage because she does not have Broker authority and basically pockets the money from the shippers and does not pay the people actually doing the work and incurring the expenses. She frequently provides blatantly false and unprofessional excuses for non payment (i.e. her son was in the hospital, the system was down, the check was sent in the mail (although she normally pays via electronic check).
I have previously had to threaten legal action in order to get paid in the past. Because I was very new to the industry when I started working with Broker, she used that to her advantage and exploited my company for its services while engaging in what I later learned to be unethical and illegal business practices.
Most recently, on March 9, 2016, she remitted a check in the amount of $2695, which was only a portion of the total amount past due for unpaid invoices. However, the she purposely stopped payment on the check because she was upset that the company was unable to take any additional loads. As a result, the check was returned unpaid.
We have now permanently terminated our business relationship with the Hi Tec Xpress and would simply like to recover our money for unpaid nvoices, as well as publicize and warn others about her unethical and unprofessional business practices. I
Hi Tec Xpress is a FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD. Irla Honorata does not have enough money in escrow to cover the invoices submitted by Owner-Operators because she is not a broker. Hi Tec Xpress is basically running a pyramid scam by paying out invoices months later in order to sustain the owner's business and personal expenses. Not only is this unethical, it is illegal. Hi Tec Xpress, Inc. should be permanently placed outof business because Irla Honorata obviously has no regard for people, professional/legal commitments or federal regulations.
