FH Holdings has scammed humdreds of people by advertising no fees untill collection is collected. However they will charge you thousands in Attorney Fees. This is Illiegal in every state as they are not Attornies and cannot collect Legal fees or give legal advice. This company has a F by the BBB (Better Businesss Burue) and a complaint is in the process of being filed agaisnt the company for misleading the consumrs by pretending to be attornies and collecting such fees. If you have already been a victem do not hesitate to file a complaint with the BBB and the state bar of both Florida and or any state you reside. Misrepreseting the consumer by pretending to have a legal team and collecting legal fees especially after you advertise no fees untill collected is a criminal matter, handled by the state bar and the District attorney.

I own a small company that had several accounts that needed collecting on. I had used one other company and was unhappy with them so made a couple of phone calls and found this company. I spoke with a guy which seemed to know a lot about collecting etc and I decided to go with this company. This gentleman's name was Michael Baxter. He was very helpful in getting everything set up and answering all my questions. Then one day I called to ask another question and found out he no longer worked there. I wasn't happy but this happens so then I got a guy named David Cohen which happened to be the

VP of Operations. He was not very helpful and didn't answer my questions directly. He danced around them. Come to find out what Mr. Baxter had told me about when they collect and how long it takes to get the funds to me was wrong. I was told it was a quick process but come to find out if takes months to get the amount collected to you along with I was told that HL Holdings keep 30% but this David Cohen said that wasn't the normal amount but grudgingly kept my contract the same.

After that time on he was rude and very unprofessional. Money came occasionally. But then I collected myself on one account they couldn't seem to collect on. They wanted their % off what I collected (which I understood, they had worked the account). It was for $21 so I emailed this David Cohen back and suggested they just take that amount out of the next account they collected on. Now in the mean time I had sent several more accounts to them. Most of my accounts are not more than 90 days old because I felt it best to give them a good chance in collecting before the accounts got old. Upon my suggestion Mr. Cohen got very rude and wanted his money immediately and informed me that I was demeaning his company by expecting it to be paid in this fashion.

I tried to explain how and why that would work best for both of us but he wouldn't have it. His emails got more and more threatening and demeaning to my company. They must have stopped all collecting on our accounts because I have seen nothing from them in months. I had not heard a work so I emailed him yesterday asking for a list of accounts he still had in house. Again, he got very very rude with me demanding payment which now has become $56. As I ask questions to the fact as to needing an invoice etc he became more threatening and unprofessional in all his emails which I saved.

Now I hired him to work for me to collect accounts, I did not intend to get into a situation where the very person I pay makes me feel like I was stealing from him. And all this was over a $56 bill which started as a $21 bill. I only wanted to have them do the job I hired them to do and subtract that small amount from their work. He refused to WORK then he refused to send any paperwork nor lists to me all over a small bill.

I think this company is very shady, unprofessional, threatening and run by a bully!

No one should be treated this way. I hope by reporting this I can save someone else from going through the disappointment of hiring a company like this. I'm glad I kept records of everything including contract, accounts sent to them, all correspondence between us.

I contacted HF Holdings, Inc., who are allegedly debt collectors, to help me collect a debt from a local business who were not paying for services rendered, after personally attempting numerous times to settle the debt. The agent I was assigned to work wiith is David Cohen - VP of operations.

HF Holdings, Inc. strongly advised me to pay them $2,000 in order to get this matter filed in the court system (this being the assured method to collect the debt, and that the $2,000 would be collected along with interest and the original debt). I paid the $2,000 to HF Holdings in December of 2016. Waited, waited, waited - heard nothing.

Beginning in February 2017, I started making phone calls to check on the progress of the claim and the court action. I was told that nothing had been filed, that they would check on it. Long story short, supposedly the check got lost in the mail and the filing for which I pad $2,000 was not done until April 17, 2017.

When I deceided to file the lawsuit I emphasized that the owners of the company are the ones with the money, and that the owners can make the company appear to have no assets, therefore, all owners of the company need to be included on the lawsuit. HF Holdings told me that would be done.

On May 19th I was finally emailed a copy of the Court Petition, however, there was no case number, no date and the only one listed as being sued was the company name only. HF Holdings would not return my phone calls so I called the attorney whose signature appeared on the bottom of the petition. The attorney informed me that I could not sue the individual owners without a personal guarantee, which I had no idea what that was. He also informed me that the only fees he collected from HF Holdings was $350, his charge for filing the lawsuit. I explained to him my situation and he said that it is unlawful for a collection company to charge fees before any collection action is done. He also agreed with me that by not being able to sue the individual owners, I would most likely not see any money from the company itself.

I then called David Cohen again. Of course by this time I am extremely angry and frustrated. I expressed my frustrations and was told by David that he never assured me the individual owners could be sued and that I didn't know what I was talking about. I assured him he had told me that and that his assistant Theresa had also assured me that. I expressed my concern of the $2,000 and only $350 actually going to the attorney. His response was - If you go to Walmart to buy a shirt, do you pay what Walmart actually paid for the shirt? Of course not. He said that is their cost to me for hiriing the attorney.

I expressed that I think I have been given nothing but the run-around, deceived and that their company is a rip-off and demanded my $2,000, minus the money paid to the attorney, be refunded immediately. Needless to say, David Cohen hung up on me!

I was looking for assistance in collecting a court-ordered debt owed to me by a former tenant of my rental property and put out a few feelers on the internet. Shortly thereafter, i was contacted by curtis ames of hf holdings inc and was told about all of the services they could provide in going after that debt.

I agreed to pay just over $100 for them to start the collection process with my former tenant and provided them with the court case information. My first clue that something was hinky is that i received a receipt via email that only stated the amount i paid to hf holdings and the date. There was no description of what i was paying for or other paperwork or contract provided Or required).

After a couple of months, i had not heard back, so i emailed curtis for an update on the case. I promptly received a phone call from curtis with an "update" on the case. Not much progress.

I waited another month and sent an email for an update, and again, promptly received a phone call from the same number as before. This time, however, i did not answer it. I thought something hinky was going on and wanted him to respond via email I.E. In writing). After not receiving an email in return, i sent another email a week later, explicitly stating that i wanted a response via email. Nothing!

After another week, i sent another email stating that i wanted a written response via email within the next five days or a refund of my money or i would report hf holdings as a scam. Since i'm writing this report on i guess you know the outcome.

Lesson learned - do not do business with a company that does not put your agreement in writing! please learn from my mistake. Thank goodness i'm only out $100 and not the original amount they wanted me to pay.
