After the death of my mother, I submitted all the paperwork Hewitt sent me to get the money from the IRA into the estate account since I am the executor. I sent all the paperwork in one priority envelope, they claimed they only ever recieved 1 form.

Next time my laywer's secretary sent all the forms I signed again, three months ago, Hewitt is claiming they didnt recieve all the forms and the ones they had were over 30 days old so they all need resubmitted.

Either they are intentionally stalling or they are all total idiots, either way stay far from them, dont even get near thier office, youll probably get stupid from thier nearness.

I had an old 401K account from Best Buy which was forced to rollover to Hewitt Financial Services without my consent or knowledge. I later found out my account was transferred over, and this Hewitt Financial Services was charging huge fees for doing absolutely nothing. It was a CASH account, a money market account, and I later found out they charged several fees which drained hundreds of dollars from this account. After finding this out, I tried to contact them by email and phone to try and cancel the account. They requested several forms, and would delay their reponses for a week at a time thus pushing back the process. After I questioned them about the huge losses in my account they stated it was due to "market fluctuations", after I reminded them this was a Cash account, they revealed their hugh fees. My total return on the account was negative hundreds of dollars. Very frustrating company, typical scumbags, I am warning everybody to stay away from doing any kind of business with them. I asked them to refund the fees, they refused.

Terrible customer service. Called to gain information about transferring funds to another investment company multiple times. Requested information regarding the current account and was initially denied requested information in a printed format (online was acceptable) regarding fees and other minimum balance information. Requested to speak with service specialist's supervisor and again requested information and instead of offering to direct me where to find account information or have information sent to me insisted on getting back to me later. The supervisor became audibly angry during the phone call and even stated I was refusing to give my email address at one point during the phone call, though I had already given it to the previous service advisor (who remained on the phone call) and is on my account information since I had become an online account holder that very same day. The supervisor had a noticeable attitude during the duration of the phone call and further escalated to hanging up on me. This company charges very large fees and makes everything very difficult. Mailed statements cost $7.50, which they send automatically. In order to change you must call and set up an online account, it can not be easily done online using account info. I requested the statements stop being mailed multiple times before it occurred, all the while fees were being charged. For a financial institution they are not very helpful, nor do they attempt to keep your money. I was very surprised when I called to discuss transfer/rollover due to my dissatisfaction with account performance and no one that I spoke with offered to help direct me towards an account that would better serve what I was trying to accomplish, which was transfer the funds into a more aggressive performing account I would highly discourage anyone from using this company. After speaking to them on multiple occasions, I can say the customer service leaves much to be desired.
