My son ordered his cap and gown on April 4th, 2022 from this company as instructed by his University. $113.34 is pretty pricey for a cap and gown, but that's what they charged for it. We went through his 05/26/22 college graduation without it. Repeated attempts to reach this company prior to graduation were impossible, my son held to infinity each time.
I've personally called 3 times in attempt to get this issue resolved and still nothing. On the 1st call, (06/06/22) they gave me a case #145992 and promised a full refund and agreed to send the stole and cords that would have come with the gown (free of charge). Ten days go by with no refund or package so I call again on 06/16/22 and was told by a guy named Eugene it's "pending with our accounting department, and both pckg and refund will go out soon".
A week later and still nothing. So I called back today, 06/23/2022 and waited on hold for at least 25 minutes only to have someone pick up the phone, then hang up, Grrrrrrr! How is this company able to trick so many colleges to do business with them? This is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!
I ordered graduation announcements from Herff Jones. Although the MOST EXPENSIVE, I was willing to pay because I felt I would get a better product and better service. When the announcements did not arrive, I tried to call. I spent MULTIPLE times on hold- wait time between 45 min to over TWO HOURS. When I finally spoke with a human, I was told there was a problem with the manufacturing and the announcements would be late. I asked why we the consumers were not contacted about this problem- no response. I was given a "direct line" so that I could speak to someone without waiting if there were more problems. No one ever picked up. I emailed. I got no response for TWO weeks. I called and waited an hour again and asked to speak to a supervisor. Their voicemail was on. No one called back. The announcements finally arrived. They were very small. In my original conversation with a representative, I was offered free shipping for the inconvenience of late announcements. When I balked, I was offered a partial refund on the order. As yet, I have not received any refund. I still cannot get to a human. On one call a robot voice told me there were 250 calls before me! I am NOT a happy customer.
Herff Jones sells overpriced poor quality jewelry. The femaie rings are so small and they do not offer any other sizes like medium or large design. I'm not sure why schools have affiliations with this company they do not sell quality. The ring I bought was almost $800 and it was poorly made. I sent it back and they returned it back to me in the same conditions. I demanded a refund and the refund took OVER A MONTH I kept calling customer service and they kept giving me the excuse that they do not handle the refunds, which was a complete lie, because when I called pissed off the guy I spoke with issued the refund the following day. Never again.
