My mother, wife and I were all on our way to a funeral service for a late family friend when my mother's BMW suddenly suffered some type of electrical issue. We were able to pull into a parking lot and my mom called AAA, which she has been a member of for over ten years. AAA was nice enough and sent out Henry's Towing to help.
My mother let AAA know that, because of the funeral, she needed to call an Uber and leave. They told her that one of us could stay with the car and AAA would make sure we were taken care of.
Well, when one of Henry's crew members showed up with a van (not a tow truck), he immediately asked me where my mother was. I told him everything that happened and that she needed to go because of the circumstances. I could hear him talking to his boss over his radio where he spoke fluent English, but when he addressed me, he suddenly had an accent and "didn't know" English. He told me that his boss said he couldn't tow the car because of my mother, the AAA cardholder, wasn't there. I explained that he would have known this when AAA alerted him and his boss to the situation.
He told me to speak to his manager, which I said, "Ok." He then told me to call the company line, that his boss wasn't available (even though his boss was speaking over the radio at the same time). He then proceeded to use get in his van without saying a word, gave me the finger and drove away. When my mother called the owner of Henry's to see what was going on, he was vulgar, used profanity, and told her, "You're an idiot for not getting your son his AAA card."
For the record, I don't own a car because I bike to work and am an environmentalist. There is no reason for me to own an AAA card, nor is it Henry's right or place to make any comment. I would not recommend working with Henry's Garage at all and if you have to work with them, don't expect any professionalism or integrity.
