I had to put in my payment information before I could look at the menu. After I looked at the menu I decided I didn't want to subscribe - too late - it charged me for 2 meals I didn't pick - but what it defaulted to.

Do not do business with HelloFresh as they take your money with no problem but refuse to refund you when there is an issue. Terrible customer service. Many other food delivery systems out there. Beware.

My wife tried to cancel this service several months ago, but instead of cancelling, the account it "paused". Today, HelloFresh charged my credit card $75.00 after months without notice. My wife immediately called to explain that we tried to cancel the service months ago, but HelloFresh refused the refund. Instead, HelloFresh offered us a "free box of food," which we will never use. They are sending the food, but we do not want it and will not be eating it.

We are partially to blame because we should have made sure that the account was completely cancelled instead of "paused". However, it has been months since we used the service. The fact that HelloFresh resumed the service without notice and auto-debit our account for $75.00 after months of inactivity is unacceptable. Likewise, the fact that they refused to refund when we caught the issue immediately is unreasonable.

I would not recommend doing business with this company. But if you do, be very careful trusting them with your banking or credit-card information. Be sure that if you want to cancel that they don't "pause" your account and get confirmation that they will never charge you again.

HelloFresh is a terrible company with terrible service and they try to charge you for something you did not know you ordered via auto renewal. The food isn't great either.

My friend gave me a discount code for 3 free meals. I ordered this to try out the service. I received my three free meals. The other day I received an email about choose your next three meals. I thought - oh, maybe the code was for 3 free boxes containing 3 meals, instead of 1 box containing 3 meals.

I logged on my account. Then to make sure HelloFresh wasn't charging me, I went to YOUR SUBSCRIPTIONS then PAYMENT INFO then EDIT. I saw that there was absolutely no credit card on file. I knew that all other sites like Amazon save your credit card info on file and display it in your account. Saw I thought, there is no way they can be charging me. This must be from the referral code.

Then I just receive a call from HelloFresh. They say welcome and i am a paying member. I'm like uhhhh no Im not. And he says oh sorry I can cancel your subscription, but Im not going to cancel or refund you for the box that will arrive tomorrow!

If you wanna do this sneaky auto renewal stuff and not offer any refund if people say they werent aware, you are going out of business. Oh and having someone call the day before, just after it had been shipped out is shady. You could have called a day or two ago before it shipped out and I, and many other tricked people, would say CANCEL. I never knew I was in your auto renewal program. But you shady people do it the day before after it has shipped out. I asked the guy for a refund. He said no on the phone.

In the checkout it says auto-renewal, but it also says gift codes are exempt. I received a gift code from my friend. And in that checkout it says "Full value e-gift cards are exempt." Thats what I received. A full $69 gift code from my friend. So why am I not exempt? They should not subscribe you if you are using a free gift code in the first place. We are just testing it out, we are not fully sold on your business.

Then I emailed their customer service. The woman said, sorry we will give a refund. Then I said I will still be reporting the business to the BBB. Then she said SORRY WE WONT BE ISSUING A REFUND.

I've never heard HelloFresh for good reason. BlueApron and Plated I have and have loved their services because they have great customer service and way better product.

Oh and they received an F RATING from the BBB.

Truly skilled at spending your money

I had such a bad experience with Hellofresh. Boxes kept coming and i was being charged their discounted box rate of 49. which i never negotiated for, i wanted to cancel! They said next box was on them. So they signed me up for a 2 week discount to keep me apparently and then said my next box was free not quit. When my next box wasn't free they then said it was a 3 week code for discount so the next box was free. You see the pattern here right? I had it out with them both on the phone and via email and now i have gotten no reply. I wanted my 3rd box to be credited to my account. So for a FREE box i ended up spending 147.00 to get a 69. credit which was given to me in the first place because they messed up my very first order. I don't eat beef or fish and ordered 2 chicken dishes and a veg dish and they sent me one chicken, one fish and one beef. So to rectify their error they spoke about this free box and credit of 69. which they never intended for me to get. Customer service gets flustered, talks over you and when they see your not giving in to their reasonings they transfer you to their supervisor which is the same smoke and mirror bull. The food however was very good. Serving size very small.

Scam scam scam. Called in because UPS had my box on the truck for the weekend. A new box was scheduled but I thought it was coming the week I called, not the following week when I was out of town. Customer service refuses to do anything about it!!! THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM BUYER BEWARE!
