I originally set up web hosting through their partner company Heartland Web Hosting for a college web site for some homework submission about a year ago. There was no mention directly of a recurring yearly charge once I let my subscription expire. Yet, deep in the TOS agreement they state: "In cases of PayPal and American Express credit card payments, a 12-month recurring billing cycle will apply for customer convenience". I see a handful of other users have commented on this terrible business practice on this site and others. After contacting PayPal first, I contacted LiquidNet who proceeded to tell me they can't handle my claim as it's now in PayPal's jurisdiction. Luckily, PayPal had my back and refunded my money to me, but if you were to use a card you wouldn't be so lucky. I can see from the previous rebuttal, which is completely unprofessional, that they are not focused on customer satisfaction at all. I would avoid these shady businesses and go through a more reputable web hosting service.
