Ryan Gonzales and Haven Homes are a total scam operation in Las Vegas and appearently now operating in several states. They also operate under Progress Residential and Temple Street Homes LLC, so be careful. I applied for one of their properties online at homesbyhaven.com and confirmed with Ryan that he had my application. He later confirmed receipt but proceeded to tell me that there was another application "ahead" of mine - despite me verifying prevously that there were no other applications. This is already illegal, because by law in Nevada he should process all applications received and present them to the owner for review. Later I got an email that my application was conditionally approved, but I needed to drop off $500 at their office before they could approve me. ??? That seemed suspicious but I turned in the $500 and was told that they would call me. Of course I never got a call, so I kept calling their office and Ryan (who never answers his phone, ever!) and finally after 3 days got an email that my application was denied due to credit.
My credit score is 680 and was previousl told by Ryan that it's going to be fine. My income is 5x the rent and my rental history is perfect, so "approval should be easy?" is what I was told. To make the long story short, I ended up getting my $500 back after some pain in the neck errands, but never got an explanation on what happened to my application. According to my realtor, the agent found a tenant himself and wanted to keep the full commission instead of paying her and that's probably why he chose another applicant over mine. She even verified that Ryan logged in his own license number under the leasing agent info. Very diceptive and will be reporting him to both the BBB and the local realtors association. Later I checked Haven Homes and Progress Residential online and found dozens of complaints and a 1 of 5 star rating for both companies - wish I had done that before I waisted all this time and money. They never answer their phones and lie to you - be very careful and stay away from these people. They are a scam operation out of LA using various names to hide from responsiblity.
