I began my relationship with this business when they were a fledgling gym in a hole-in-the-wall facility. For many years I paid my memberships in full for one year periods. For my last year there I went on a one year contract plan. 8 months into this plan I relocated to a far away city. The manager, "Terry", (who is no longer in their employ) gave me an option to opt out of my contract, considering the circumstances, if I gave them 60 days notice. I did this, and I moved away
Recently, I returned to Lake Havasu, and was excited to join back up. One day after I signed up, I was telephoned by "Shawna" who informed me that I had a balance owed, and that she refused to resign me until this was resolved. Shawna aslo informed me that my contract had gone to collections. I haven't ever been contacted by Havasu Fitness, or any collections agency, regarding this matter.
..... Shawna informed me that she didn't have the authority to resolve this matter, herself, and that I would have to speak with Dale, or Jack Bailey. It took 2 weeks of run around before I spoke to either Bailey, nad I had to chase them down. I called them after leaving numerous call back messages with other staff members.
When I finally did speak with Dale Bailey, I was met with resistance, argument, and accusation. After years of patronage, I was willing to continue to with this business. However, the behavior or Dale Bailey and staff is unacceptable. Dale informed me that this former manager, Terry, was available for inquiry into this matter. At this, I suggested that we all meet so that memories could best be refreshed. At that, Dale Bailey told me that she didn't like my attitude. Oh, really?! My suggestion/desire was to best resolve a matter to the benefit of all parties involved, and I was very clear regarding this.
There was a time when Havasu Fitness was the only real gym in Havasu, and they have always had this, " go elsewhere", attitude. Now, there are many good gyms in Havasu. My suggestion is to inquire with one of these before encouraging this attitude/behavior.
