Years ago before I knew the world of autograph collecting, I made the mistake of buying an autograph without verifying the authenticity of the item. I purchased and 8x10 Kobe Bryant Autographed forgery via ebay marketplace. From ebay seller (hckyguy) https://www.ebay.com/usr/hckyguy_trksid=p2047675.l2559 .
I recently sent the item after all these years to James Spence Authentication for review. They wrote back confirming it was infact a forgery. When I tried to email him regarding his Hat Trick Collectibles COA he denied being associated with this name. But if you read many items on his ebay listings, he identifies himself as "Hat Trick Collectibles" out of Placentia California.
The man used to have a store front but went out of business due to bad reputation in the collectors community. After that he has focused his fraudulent efforts and fake autograph sales on his ebay page. Like many scam artists and experienced forgers on ebay, he sneaks in and sells some legitimate autographs authenticated by JSA or PSA/Upperdeck etc and adds his worthless "Hat Trick Collectibles COA" to the additional certificates.
He does this to deceive and improve the reputation of his Certificate of Authenticities floating aroud ebay. Reports have been filed on him over the years with the UACC regarding his forgeries. STAY AWAY from this ebay seller: "hckyguy" aka "Hat Trick Collectibles" from Placentia California. Even if you find an item hes's selling verified by PSA or any other reputable authenticator, refuse to close the sale.
You will be supporting a autograph forger's operations giving this scam artist money. He refuses to stand by his Certificates of Authenticity. He should change his ebay name to HackGuy aka Hack Trick Forgeries. Stay safe fellow collectors and do your homework!!
