Jim Harris sold me a Pointer Dog puppy with Parvo. The dog arrived underweight, with rib cage poking through loose skin, pooped boody bowel movement within 24 hrs. I kept Jim harris up to date on these facts, but he was never concerned.
After two days, I took pup to vet and he had full blown Parvo. Jim Harris showed no concern or emotion, and told me he would send me a new dog for approx $300 additional shipping. As if that was a solution. And even if I wanted another dog, why would I have to pay another dime?
Of course I did not want another dog. I told Jim that my vet said the pup was literally going to die without treatment, and the bill would be approx $1200. Jim replied "well, I'm not gonna pay any o' that." he claimed that his vet (Dr. Gorman) gave the pup a good bill of health.
This dog was very sick and emaciated, had a proven case of parvo literally 48 hrs after arrival. Now that I have been through this heartbreaking episode, I'm even more stunned that Jim offred no guidance,because he could have helped a lot with some kind and soothing words and experience--as I could now--if I knew anyone whose dog had Parvo.
After offering me another dog, like a pair of shoes for exchange or something, he told me he did not HAVE TO give me another dog, but that he would. What a generous man. Pretty weird statement. I have another dog at home, Parvo is massively contagious, Jim could not care less.
He did not tell me how to handle Parvo in a home with a sick dog and a well dog. It involves a lot of careful and very draining activity, to keep the well dog, well, using bleach solution on the sick pups pee and poop, etc etc... This is a man you should never trust.
I did pay to save the pup's life. When I told Jim he was behaving in a highly unprofessional manner, he said he was hanging up the phone and did not want to be insulted. AVOID HARRIS KENNELS.
