Called the owner and got set up to have him build a custom barrel. Very unorganized and unprofessional, but sent him a check anyways to his mailbox for an amount for the barrel. I called back to see what or if there was shipping costs for it and he said he would sent me a separate bill for shipping? Time goes on and doesnt get the barrel done for months. Finally sends the barrel out after numorous calls.
The first problem that i noticed was the line pin to align the barrel with the upper receiver was not down far enough to thread it on. Ok, small problem can fix that. Second problem was that he drilled the gas port too close to champfer to get gas block lined up in right spot. Ok, can fix that. Then live rounds would get stuck in the gun so i did a borescope and noticed that the chambering was absolutely horrendous and was catching the brass and headspace too tight.
The owner will not return a call or reply to messages showing him what he did. I sent the barrel to a different gunsmith to fix it hopefully. Have read other reports of this same type of work i wish i would have been warned first and thats why im writing this.
