I was a tenant in an apartment managed by that company in Huntsville. The person I signed the rent contract with the company was named Akeem Aremu. I have made a deposit of $600 to lease an apartment located at 915 University Avenue in Huntsville,Tx.
That deposit was supposed to be given back to me at the end of the leasing contract. However, the company never gave me back my deposit. In fact they charged me $250 on that deposit for the following reasons:
1. Cleaning the apartment :$50
2. Replacing the damaged fan:$60
3. Replacing damaged windows blind:$60
4. The labor:$60
On all the above reasons, I contested the reason # 3 because when I rented the apartment, the blinds I founded was so old and some were damaged to be used. I bought new blinds and removed those installed by the company.
So, when I moved out the apartment the manager charged me for the destruction of these blinds when in fact that was wrong. He used my deposit to purchase and change all the blinds in the apartment when he had no right to do so. He sent me a check of $350 one month later. When I told him that I contested that amount,he asked me to send it back for correction,but he never sent me the check back.
More,he arrogantly told me to follow with the company up. I have made several calls to the company(they never answered). M. Aremu blacklisted my number and the mail I sent to the company address never got an answer. It's been already 11 months.
