In 2006, we built a custom home, and outfitted two full baths with products from Hansgrohe. Three faucets, two shower faucet kits and a tub kit. All other finihed plumbing was Kohler. We had both shower heads spring leaks from the main housing, where the factory joined the from of the housing to the rear of the housing. Both leaks were identical, and an obvious manufacturing defect. These products were extremely expensive, compared to their competing brands at the time. We paid approximately 3 times the cost over Delta and two times the cost over Kohler faucets. I approached the company to get warranty covered replacements, on March 13, 2017 (shower heads only) and the company refused to cover anything, citing this "Sounds like wear and tear". Here is the company response:
Hello Marion,
We're sorry to here about the issue that you are having with your Hansgrohe products,
The issue you have described in your email sounds like a matter of wear and tear. Our Limited lifetime warranty covers against manufactures defects and is limited to wear and tear thus making your products ineligible for the warranty.
This is a rediculous response, and an abdecation of responsibility by the Hansgrohe company. I will never buy their products again and would advise everyone to look for more mainline companies for their plumbing needs. Hansgrohe has some of the most underperforming faucets and accessories I have encountered. In sharp contrast, our kitchen "Kohler" faucet encountered a leak in the valve after ten years. Kohler promply shipped repair parts to me, and when they didn't resolve the issue, they gladly sent me an intirely new faucet which is priced at nearlt $400.00. This is still far less than we paid for the Hansgrohe garbage. All three bath sinks plunger rods have broken over the years, and one valve in one of the faucets is so hard to turn, we avoid using it most of the time. These are clearly inferior plumbing appliances, and the company is devoid of any real professionalism.
