Horrible customer service. They sent me the wrong painting. So, I called and asked them to send the correct painting & asked what to do with the wrong painting. They said, sorry to hear about your item. Please send us back the ("wrong") painting we sent you at your expense! What? I was shocked. What about the painting I ordered? They said you would have to order again to receive the item you already paid for but did not receive! I mean really? Total idiots.

I'm simply calling my cc company who will take care of this fraudulent business and refund my money.

I had high expectations when I visited handmadepiece.com. There is a reason why the artwork that is posted on the handmadepiece website looks so much like the original masterpieces, that is because it is a cut and paste photo of the original masterpiece on their website not a photo of what your reproduction will look like. The reproduction will be painted by someone in Singapore or some other Asian Country which is what you will actually be getting; from an artist that is less likely to have 20 years experience reproducing masterpieces and more likely some 20 year old art student.

I ordered a reproduction of Leonardo di Vinci's Mona Lisa months ago. I specifically ordered as close to the original in the same size as the masterpiece itself. After 4 weeks I was sent a very low resolution photo, about the size of a passport photo, that looked like a paint by numbers, very light, very pale, flat looking portrait.

I wrote a negative review on trust pilot and was emailed by Monica Lee of Handmadepiece the next day and was told the painting would be redone and asked to remove my posted review. I agreed and removed my negative comment.

Weeks later I was again sent a low resolution photo of a darker version of Leonardo di Vinci's Mona Lisa. It still needed work (one eye was too big and Mona Lisa's eyes are Brown not Black, no detail on clothing and hands) and was told the changes and details would be added.

I placed an order of a painting on this site and reached out multiple times regarding my order... I did not receive any type of response other than an automated response. This website has got to be a scam since I placed an order-my money was withdrawn and then... never received my painting or any type of actual tracking number. I only received one "Thank you for your Order" email and said to check back with any updates. It has been two weeks--reached out on all social media platforms....Be careful!!!

his is my first review. That alone says a lot. I made - and purchased - an order on handmadepiece.com and since I live in Denmark, it had to be over US $150. Quite a big amount, but hey, the shipping is super expensive too, I thought. I get a receipt - everything looks like it's going well. The next e-mail I get is a confirmation with "good news": my order now has been shipped! HOWEVER, in the same e-mail I am asked to pay for the shipping, because they were - without my knowing - suddenly out of stock of one of the item I'd bought. Immediately I write them an e-mail and they refund my money and send me a code that would "cover all expenses" for my next order. I place a new order, type in the code and then - two days later - I get an e-mail asking me to pay taxes. Thats $ 24 or 180 DKK. I'm quite confused, since they did not inform me that taxes weren't a part of those expenses they promised me to cover?? But heck, I want the painting so I write them an e-mail with constructive feedback, saying that for the future I, as a customer, would prefer being informed by this extra expense. Then they tell me that they've CANCELED my second order. Out of the blue. I am told to place a new order and I'm not offered any kind of compensation. The customer service is just trying to shut down the case, it seems.

A couple of weeks later I get a call from UPS saying that they're waiting at my front door, and tell me to "hurry home with cash" because now they've tried knocking on my door for several days. What? I wasn't informed by this? I'm expecting another package, so I rush to the bank - a bank where they charge me for withdrawing money - and when I get home (he gives me 15 minutes to do all of this) I hand him the money, but he hasn't any change, so I have to pay him even more than the taxes require. To my great surprise I see that this is a package for handmadepiece.com. Oh my... I still haven't heard anything from handmadepiece.com, who just a couple of weeks ago told me they were gonna refund my money and cancel my order. I am in shock. One thing is for sure: I will never EVER shop at handmadepiece.com again.

The delivery service they use is rubbish - my delivery guy had to make 3 attempts to deliver my parcel (not necessarily handmadeipece gals fault, as i do live in student accommodation, but still, they are useless).. i really wanted this painting in time for christmas day, which i ended up missing as the parcel wasn't delivered until monday the 18th of december.

On arrival, i was asked to pay an additional $20 (even though i'd paid $15 to ship the painting ) and this is not acceptable. its a joke, and as a student, i was not willing to pay this (as they don't state this on checkout). Especially because the painting i purchased was no where near worth that much, i ended up refusing the package and getting a full refund. customer service weren't helpful as they only replied to one of my emails, so i ended up chatting to one of the agents online which they helped me quite a lot with. if i wasn't charged additional fees i probably would shop here again, but as for now, ill stick to other websites.

I get full protection for my rental and they refused my claim after an incident as my damage part is not covered in my full protection plan, ridiculous, will never use the rental car anymore. Like handmadepiece.com they said they have a 30 days’ money back guarantee but after 8 weeks of waiting for the painting arrived damage and I contacted the support and they said that the painting is shipped in proper packing. I send the pictures to them that the image arrived broken and they refused to send a money back. I called and email them again but there are not answering me anymore. I reported them BBB and they are now acting. So, don’t trust these companies anymore!

Booked a car to drive and paid $100. By the time Hertz had slapped all their fees on, we ended up paying $440. There's a tiny warning about additional 'local mandatory charges' but just beware when you book that they'll make up 80% of the total eventual cost and what you're charged online is only a small fraction of what you'll eventually spend. And don't bother getting in touch with their customer services; they'll just send you screenshots of the small print then ignore any subsequent messages. Like the painting I bought from handmadepiece.com I used the code provided on their website to have 5% off plus free shipping but my bank statement arrived I still see that they charged for the shipping fee plus no 5% discount!

They totally ripped me off when I made a reservation for a car to pick up in New York airport. I got charged for the rental and when I arrived the agency said the car was not available and that they could not honor the reservation from Rentalcars.com. I had to pay twice as much for another car and Rentalcars.com would not honor the refund. The customer service was awful and they took days to respond. I feel totally scammed and would never use them again. I remember the time I bought painting from handmadepiece.com, I paid twice because they said that they did not receive any payment from me which I have already provided all proof that it was charged on my card and awful customer service too. Your money is better spent elsewhere!

False advertising about drop off price. Read on booking page BEFORE I paid, $100. After payment was taken this amount now shown as $200. Told via chat I must pay extra and MAY get a refund! Also, I bought a painting from handmadepiece.com and instead 5% off plus free shipping they charge me that both. Fake website advertisement just to make sales.

I will never use this site again. No apology from company.

We recently had two paintings we had seen in a Paris museum reproduced for our office. handmadepiece.com did not do an excellent job capturing the original images. Of course, we are not talking museum quality copies but we are not happy with the results. They even not adjusted the dimensions so that both paintings turned out to be the same size per our request. Their process is very hard - they will not send you digital images of the copies you can review them and request "tweaks" if needed. I would not recommend their service

I was a contented 13 year old until the dark day when a heartless recruiter from the shenzhen sweatshops drove until my village in henan province in central china. My parents, dirt poor farmers, accepted the recruiter’s dickensian offer of $200 for me and that evening i was packed like a sardine into a mini-bus with twenty other impoverished children from surrounding villages for the long, heart-breaking drive to the industrial smog of shenzhen.

When we arrived, i was allocated to work in 1st-art.com factory in dafen village, shenzhen. We were put in a dorm room of 3 x 4 meters sleeping twelve kids on bunk beds and told we would work from 6am until 10pm with 30 minutes for lunch and two 10 minute toilet breaks, 7 days a week with one day a month off. We would be paid the equivalent of $50 a month but 1st-art.com would deduct $30 for lodging and food which consisted of two small bowls of rice and vegetables a day - we never got any meat. We had also, of course, to pay off with extortionate interest the $200 payment that was paid to our parents.

The owner of handmadepiece.com, a cruel, hard, dragon lady called monica, put us to work the next day. We were painting over prints on easy paintings by a western artist called mark rothko – the more difficult paintings were sent to be painted by adults with a little art training who were imprisoned in the ‘laogai’ - forced labor camps for political prisoners. If we made a mistake, then monica would get the security guards to beat us severely on our backs with a bamboo cane – the physical scars have now healed but the mental ones are seared into my nightmares.

After two months of working in the oil painting sweatshop many of us kids lost our appetite, always felt drowsy and were frequently ill. I would latter discover that we had lead poisoning from handling the cheap oil paint that handmadepiece.com used in its oil paintings. We were never allowed to see a doctor and never given any medicine but our pay was docked if we were too ill to work.

I remember one day with much happiness. We were working at 7am when about five policemen burst into the sweatshop. Monica quickly escaped by running out of the back door and sped away on a motorbike. The police had been tipped off by an ngo about child labor abuses and had staged a raid. The police were kind to us and took us to a local hospital for treatment for lead poisoning and then we were returned to our families in our home villages. Unfortunately, monica bought off some influential people and escaped any punishment- that is the way in our new china! she and her partners have now reopened 1st-art.com as handmadepiece.com with the same abuses being carried out.

I and the other kids, thank from the bottom of our hearts the western ngo who pressured the police to rescue us. I know that western customers like cheap oil paintings but please don’t buy from handmadepiece.com as they are painted with the blood, sweat and tears of poor chinese children, each brushstroke represented an act of cruel misery for us.
