Warren A Brown was a man that I felt that I could trust since I knew him for over 20 plus years, although we we're never close. I always felt that he was an individual of upstanding character with honesty and integrity. We grew up in the same neighborhood. It is with great sadness and regret that I feel that I have to write this Rip off report but it's long overdue. I trusted Mr. Warren Brown to perform a service and do the right thing by me instead I entrusted him with $4000.00 of my hard earned money for a service that he never performed, intended to perform.
Instead he choose to blame the fact that he never returned the money made any attempt to return the money on my personal insecurities which is complete BS. I'll try to explain the circumstances regarding the situation to the best of my ability.
Upon the advice of a close friend and business partner of mine at the time I gave Mr. Warren A Brown $4000.00 to perform a service for us. The service was to hire workers in the Phillippines where he resides to make phone calls for us. The phone calls we're to contact individuals who we're going through foreclosure to try and help them either sell their home or stay in their home. In the beginning I thought that this was a venture that would work out and benefit all of us. My partner advised me to transfer the sum of $4000.00 to him which was in return for him training a staff and making calls on behalf of our business. Now in hindsight I realize that this was a catastrophic mistake on my part. I feel like he took advantage of our trust.
I knew for years that Mr. Warren A Brown had owned several venues in Brooklyn and the Bronx where he rents them out to people doing birthday parties, baby showers and so forth. I cannot speak of the business dealings in regards to his rental business this is a seperate situation. After depositing the money into his bank account on August 11th 2017 one year and 2 months from the date of me writing this complaint no attempt at returning the money, making any restutition has been made to me whatso ever.
After trying to colloborate with Mr. Warren Brown for a month I worked diligently each day on finding prospects for our project. After seeing no work being done on the project on his part I questioned him about the situation. He told me that he had stopped working on the project and begun working on a project for himself without consulting me or my partner at the time.
He said that he was working on something better that would benefit all of us. If you pay somebody to do a job, a contractor, construction worker or employee they cannot do the job only when they feel like it or only when it's at their convience. After losing the money he told me that he was not responsible for my insecurities like this was my fault. It was my fault for trusting him in the first place for that I take full responsibility. Mr. Warren A Brown has shown me that he is a very selfish individual who thinks only of his needs and has no concern or consideration for anyone else's well being other than his own.
If he had at least attempted to perform any of the work and I had lost the money after showing good faith I could have accepted it. He told me that he would pay me back only if and when all the circumstances in his life worked out for him, basically never. I asked for a little bit each month he refused. It's been over a year and not a dime of my money has been returned to me. He has returned to the Phillippines where I hope that he can stay for good.
I'm writing this not because I'm angry about the money that I lost, it's the principle. $4000.00 is nothing in this world but if you pay someone to do a job and the take the money to do what they want to do with it and not perform the service that they we're hired to do that's wrong and immoral. Whenever you give a contractor or employee money to perform a task and they go and do something else with the money that's equilavent to stealing.
My trust in this person is shattered, I've thought about writing this for a long time. He could have chosen to do the right thing but he choose not to. I wish that I had never taken my friend's advice and trusted him. This was one of the biggest mistakes in my life, one that I won't repeat.
