A little over a year ago I started working for Hairdoo, which is an application that sends hairdressers out to perform barbering services in an individuals home. I started to build a following of subscribers who were monthly requests that asked for me personally. Leonardo had difficulty paying us on time and was never consistent with what day, or when we would get paid. He did all his payroll through Venmo and rules kept changing. Later on in the year I was asked to do my own payroll which took time away from me due to sitting, screenshotting, and emailing every time I was owed money. It got to be such a hastle that I chose not to do it as often and I just would do it every month or so. I do hair on the side as a means to support myself through school and choose not to work in a salons anymore.
Fast forward to this summer, Leonardo racked up a bill that was almost a grand and appeared to be shocked by the fact that I needed to be paid for my work. I was nice about it, and per our text conversation I set up a payment plan with him. A week later he failed to pay by the end of the week, and when confronted seemed shocked by the fact that he had a balance due. He paid me on a day that I was to be sent out to cut hair as I refused to work anymore without payment. He paid off what would have been a third of the bill before doing another house call the same day. The other two payments still are unpaid, plus the individual housecall made after the balance at question. He refuses to answer any texts, make any payments, and aknowledge that he still owes money.
Just be clear for formality, I have to fight for payment on 26!!!!! haircuts that I did for my clients, and to my knowledge all said they were happy with the service.
Moral of the story: Hairdressers please do not work for Leonardo Colon or Hairdoo, he will con you so hard out of your precious time. He is super dishonest and operates unethically, clearly he pays himself before any employees. Hairdoo rightfully earned this blemish so all can see what a piece of crap the operation is.
Consumers: Do not use the app! I also had to listen to any frustration my clients had with the business end of things on numerous occasions. Leo overcharged my clients and would not respond to messages sometimes for 2 days.
