Guardian Protection Products Reviews
I purchased furniture at Bob's Discount Furniture. The slick salesman convinced me into buying the warranty which was not cheap. The salesman told me that ALL accidents are covered with the warranty. He never mentioned that the warranty is actually through an outside company called Guardian Protection Products.
About 6 months after having furniture my grandson accidentally got a cleaning product on the top of the diningroom table causing several spots that had eaten away the finish. THis table had only been used a handful of ties- at most. The product should not have done any damage but it did- so it says a lot about the quality of Bob's furniture. I immediately contacted Bobs as I assumed the warranty was through them. I was instructed by Bobs to contact Guardian Protection Products which I did immediately.
After explaining over and over again to Guardian about the damage (I was basically given the 3rd degree) I was told that I needed to send photos of the damage. I did just that. I then received an email stating that my claim was denied as 'FADING' is not covered. WTH! The pictures clearly show several spots where the finish was gone. It clearly was not fading by any stretch of the imagination. The email from Guardian also stated that the decision was FINAL and that any attempt to contact them via the email would go unanswered.
I spent a total of just over two hours on four different phone calls trying to reach this company regarding a stin on my new dresser purchased from Ashley Furniture. Once I was able to make contact, I was immediately interrogated as to why I have a stain on my dresser. I was then advised that I would have to send pictures of the damage and that an investigation as to the cause of damage would have to be conducted before they would send someone out.
I paid $249.99 through Ashley Furniture to purchase this warranty. What I was sold was not what I received. This warranty is not worth the paper it is written on. My next course of action will be to return to Ashley and see if they are willing to assist in getting my furniture repaired or offer a refund on the plan. In either case, my furniture will be repaired even if it is at my full expense.
I purchased this furniture on July 22, 2018 and have had possession for just at two months. I purchased over $7800. This was the cost after my military discount. Ashley Furniture, so far, has been reliable except for the protection package.
My next step will be to visit with the local store manager to see if he is willing to assist.
Guardian Protection has no interest in helping the customer. I have worked in customer service for over 30 years and you never immediately go on the defensive. You listen to your customer. If this was a malicious action I could understand their hesitation but the representative (Maria) did not gather enough information to make an educated decision before she went on the defense.
I do not ever recommend buying this plan or doing business with this company.
I waited 2 month for them to keep asking for pictures witch I send and they told me any excuse and this is one example :The damage that is covered for the entertainment center is the broken door you have reported. The first door you reported broken along with the scratches you originally reported will not be covered. The pictures show that the item has multiple scratches and gouges that cannot be attributed to a single incident. The damage to the first door you reported was not related to any accidental occurrence therefore will also not be covered. This makes no sense it definitely looks that they are dragging me along hopping that I get tired to keep call or write them emails they will find any reason not to cover the damage ... I was fouled by this sales person at Bob’s to get this protection plan he told me then that any accidental damage will definitely be covered ....Big Scam Thank you!
I went to Jeromes Furniture in Anaheim, California and bought a sofa and loveseat. SInce it is in a lighter fabric color I thought getting the protection plan would be a good thing in case of accidental spills.
Well over the Thanksgiving holiday I had two incidents occur.
First: I had family in with their dog. Their dog and my dogs made a mess on the couch.
Second: the a seat cushion got snagged with a key
Since it was over the holiday I took the washable cover off the cushion with the mess and put it on gentle wash. Apparently that voided the warranty. I was told that basically I should have left the mess and called them and waited until they could come to clean it. so now I not only have stains, but a ripped cushion as well that will not get fixed on a sofa that is just over a year old.
Thanks for nothing - maybe you should tell the sales people pushing the plan down people throats in the furniture stores to warn customers that they need to live with mess and filth or it will void their warranty.
Purchased a warranty for a recliner sofa and Guardian Protection Products refused to honor the warranty or even inspect the damaged furniture. Purchased a Laredo Reclining Sofa (Article # 400774) on 01/01/12 from Bobs discount furniture, for a cost of $599.00 and the Goof Proof Warranty (5 years) for an additional $149.00 and delivery for $129.99. While the children were playing on the couch they broke the two rip cords used to recline the couch. The damage occurred on 11/12/2016 and was reported on 11/14/16. Spoke to a representative and stated since I did not observe how they broke they could not determine if it was accidental in nature and therefore denied the claim outright. I explained, that I was not present however the fact was that neither their company or myself could determine that it was not accidental. I asked for a tech to come out to check it, they refused and just denied the claim. The Goof Proof Plan, according to Bob's Discount Furniture, coverages, "Breakage of frames, springs, sleeper, reclining, heating, and vibrating mechanisms." There seems to be no further remedy than to make my voice heard and allow others to see that this is a company that will avoid paying out a warranty that they were paid to fulfill.
