I somehow have 2 policies with this company that I have absolutely no knowledge of. Neither of these are policies that I would've chosen. How and where they got my personal information is beyond me. They have no wet signatures from me and their Proxy letter was never signed by me. It states my policy began on Oct. 1 of 2019. That is the same day my medicare started! Why would I agree to pay $70 a month for 2 new policies starting the same day as my medicare? One policy is for cancer insurance and the other is for hospital stays.
They have been taking this money since August of 2019. I should have never let it go on this long. I must admit that I rarely check my bank account and most my bills are paid automatically.
I spoke with them today to ask how this occured and of course they had no answer. I have open heart surgury in Dec. of 2019 and had a 3 day hospital stay. Most was covered by my medicare but had I known that I had additional hospital coverage I think I would have used it. During today's conversation they said they only go back 15 months for claims. Pretty convenient for people that don't know the policy exists!
Have a medical policy that covers payouts for hospital stays. I have been paying $25.50 oer month for 3.5 years.
I recently had a brief hospital stay and asked them what to do to submit a claim. I got the right hospital bill that they reqired- Faxed it along with policy number, name etc. They asked for 48 hours to check if the claim was receive. It's been 96 hours. I have a receipt showing that the fax was received. The claim the never got it. I asked if the coul check their fax log. They said that didn"t matter. Sent it again today and called and they evidently don't work on Friday afternoon.
I think this company has very poor service. An insurance conpany is only as good as their claims service and this one is very questionable. I am considering dropping this company if they don't take care of this next week.
