We purchased our travel trailer from Grumbines in Harrisburg, PA in July 2015. We were met by a salesman, Jerry, who told us he had just had open heart surgery and was finally back to work. He showed us maybe 4 trailers. The one we were interested in had a "king bed" pull out couch. Because we knew what pull out beds were like, and because of his surgery, we did not ask to have the bed pulled out . . . big mistake! Turns out the "bed" does not come with a mattress. Just a bunch of straps that are under some thin material on which you are supposed to sleep. My family member slept on it the first night and said all night the straps were breaking. It ended up to be about 5 inches below the frame by this time.
We paid cash for this trailer and when the electrical didn't work, we went out and bought the new part. We also had one of the hose fitting on the outside break while traveling and had to replace it. We are still waiting for our refund on these two items. They tell us it could take 90 days . . . 90 days for them to pay us back $80 after we spent over $29,000 for the trailer!
The first night we took it home, planning on going on vacation the next day, none of the lights in the trailer worked. Now, this is a BRAND NEW travel trailer. We tried to get it in the next day for service but they had no openings in service so we had to take it back the following day, postponing our vacation by two days. Turns out the main switch for the lights was defective. The first time we put the living room slide out, there was a screw under the flooring that gouged two scratches into the floor. The rod in the one closet broke away from the wall and there is some major leak underneath the trailer, which we are concerned could cause mold to grow on the insulation under the trailer.
My husband went in to speak with the service person and ended up in the General Manager, Steve's office. Well, they had words and my husband was told not to ever come back to their store. So, from here on out, I have had to deal with their misrepresentations and lack of customer service.
The General Manager, Steve, then informed me that I would now be dealing with the Sales Manager, Chuck . . . turns out it is BROTHER, Chuck. How convenient that you have two brothers working for the same company, one as the General Manager and one as the Sales Manager. Just this past week, I have sent two emails and called the Sales Manager three times with no return call. His one email response to me was that he was just so busy with meetings and kids soccer that he didn't have time to call me. Still waiting to hear from him.
We have requested that they just take the trailer back and replace it with a new one, but we have had no response to that. At this point, we are going to go to another Camping World in Hanover, PA and have them do the warranty work.
Do not go to his RV store for ANYTHING. They are like a typical salesman . . . there when you want to buy but never there when you need service done.
