My quarrel is with GrubHub. They closed my account just a few days ago because of excesse refunds/concessions. Throughout the last two months I have been placing orders to NEW HONG KONG 88, which happens to be in an area they poorly service by ca/bike. They are just too d**n slow to get here. I have made various calls to the business regarding this issue. He told me to order 1 or 1.5 hours ahead if it was GrunHub because he knows they're slow. This is what I tried to work sthis by ordering from the same merchant NEW HONG KONG 88, EVERY d,ay. What do we have? Constantly slow or kissing the business' gates. Of course I would ask for rightfully deserved compensation. But when yo ask for so many concessions PILE UP if you order every day from the same merchant every day and there are problems in delivery. GrubHub will tell you that I took 150 credits from them in a month. I seriously doubt that, but even if so, I purchased every day and the service was awefu. I even dodged a few concessions knowing that I was entitled to them just to keep GrubHub happy. Now I appealed to re-open my account and they denied my appear, refusing me to deal with my account forever. But get this, and I want you to stay sharp. They know they will screw up in the NEW HONG KONG 88 area time and time again. They will not hire more people or improve infrastructure to get it it done. So what does one unprofitable client mean to them? Nothing. They wrote me off beause they know that if they take me back on as a client, I would complain about their service again and ask for credit. GrubHub charged my credit card, so they will post a refund. I want Grubhub to offer a guarantee of delivery or double your money back instead of "Maybe you will get your food, maybe you won't. We don't care and will refund your money if we fail to do our job".
Alexandria VA - Placed an order of $100 for Bob Evans in Springfield VA with Grub Hub. I had people over - some wanted breakfast & some wanted lunch.
Watched the online map for driver to be near my home and went to the door to stand & watch for him to be on my street. Never saw him. Then online website showed he delivered order so I called Driver's number to ask what happened.
He said he knocked & no one answered. (that's a lie since I was standing at the door). I asked where is the food, thinking he could still bring it to me. He hung up on me! When I called back he did not answer the phone.
So I called corporate customer service to complain - was told someone would call the driver as he should still have the food to deliver and I would get a call back. I never received a callback so I called customer service again later. This time I stayed on phone hold as didn't trust they would call me back. After waiting told the rep could not reach the driver.
I asked would someone report the driver for dishonesty as he either took my food or misdelivered but he's apparently unwilling to admit what he did.
I ended up having to order Dominos pizza for my guests just to get them fed quickly plus I'm out the $100 charged to me for the Grub Hub order.
What makes me most upset is that the driver got to keep the tip!
I went online tonight and deleted my credit card information on Grub Hub website. I have in past used Door Dash - always very pleased with service. From now on I'm staying with Door Dash - they may have less choices but their drivers are honest!

Alright, So the reality is I'm not usually the type of individual to make complaints like this, however I feel it is necessary to voice the situation that I had. I placed my order on January 12th 2018 at 3:21 p.m. My order was scheduled to originally arrive in between 3:50-4:00. Also keep in mind today is a Saturday so rush hour traffic is not as very bad at all.
However, my order did not arrive until 4:25 p.m. Upon arrival I noticed that there was a passenger in the car and he was actually the individual that brought my food inside. I say inside because I was at work in Tempe, I work at a smoke shop so it is not a big issue for a delivery driver to bring the food inside.
But, when the delivery driver is 25 minutes late, and as a driver they are privately contracted through grubhub so they really should not have passengers in the vehicle distracting them from their job, on top of completing the job for them by leaving the vehicle with the food and bringing it inside or to the door. Grubhub is not contracting the passenger. The driver is the employee and they are suppose to be by themselves in the vehicle, delivering the food to the individuals that place their orders.
Issues such as negligence towards customer service, ranging from late orders, and possible food contamination issues. As well as the possibility of foodbourne illness due to the extended period of time in which the food was within the "danger zone." I did make it known to the passenger that brought my food in, "I would have tipped the driver cash had he not been 25 minutes late." The passenger procedeed to ask, "what my problem was," and that they "came from Chandler,"(...to Tempe) to deliver my food. But in reality the restaurant is less than 2 miles away from my work, exactly 1.07 miles, or 1.27 miles if you go the long way.
Upon placing this complaint with Grubhub customer service, I was expressing my annoyance towards the situation, and they literally never even said they would contact the individual that delivered my food about the issue, and also put me on hold for about ten minutes until the held call timed out and hung up on me.
Before they rudely put me on hold they did say they were going to put a $5 coupon towards my next Grubhub order, but were still rude not very understanding towards the situation. It was basically like I called an automated recording however they were real people on the phone. So I called them back to possibly try to speak with a different customer service representitive that may have been a bit more understanding towards the situation but that was a lost cause.
This representative was less helpful and less understanding even though I fully detailed the complaint, and still yet again never even expressed the fact that they were going to voice this complaint to the driver that was in question. I myself was not combative, or irrational. I used proper language and tone as to not annoy the customer service representative, but I felt that just because I was calling to voice my complaint I was already annoying them even though it is their job to handle customer issues. I hope people read this and can possibly understand where I'm coming from, I did read the Grubhub user agreement and this may not be within a legal standpoint, but it should come down to ethics, and understanding of customer service.
From another stand point, I have recieved an order from Grubhub that was 45 minutes late, but the traffic was actually very bad at the time and the delivery driver was the one and only one that delivered the food, and I still even tipped the guy.

Grubhub is a RIPOFF! I was offered a 25% discount for my first order from a resturant. When i hit place my order on the app, i was billed the entire amount without the discount. I called *immediately* and asked to cancel the order. Grubhub told me it was too late and only offered me $10 off my next order. I was then told that, even though the discount was advertised on the grubhub app, the resturant has their own ordering service and i should have ordered there, and not on grubhub, to receive the discount. As this makes absolutely no sense, i asked to speak to a supervisor. I was placed on hold for a half hour and told i would get a callback in 24 hours, which i have not. I disputed the charge with my card company, filed a complaint with the BBB, and am contacting the AG. want everyone to know the shady practices of this company. They rip off hard working restaurant owners, drivers, and consumers, while offering a sub par app with horrible customer service. Lets get this rip off company put out of business.
I contacted Grubhub v ia chat and they said the coupon was for 1st time users. The coupon did not say that. I kept a copy of the coupon and it did not state that. Grubhub then said my order was out for delivery and there was nothing they could do. I feel that was an intentional ripoff and will not be ordering from them again.
Ordered and paid for dinner 7:37 PM on July 4. The site has a function that let's you know when the food will come. When the actual time passed by the target time (it was 10PM, food was 'going to be there' at 9:25) I called California Pizza Kitchen, which was supposed to receive the order.
THe woman at CPK said no order was ever received, that their kitchen was closed and (in a nice way) that we weren't going to find anyone locally who will deliver the dinner.
Sometime later that night-after I had gone to Wawa for dinner-when it was too late to make any other comparable arrangements, I got a note from Grubhub that my order was canceled and it said i could get $10 off a future order. Sorry about ruining your entire dinner, here's $10 - and you have to keep doing business with us!
In contract terms, they breached their end of bringing dinner. Additionally, they did not refund the money yet. They said it would be 3-5 days depending on MY bank.
There's no accountability here. If the site had the functionality to say, "it's a holiday, you can't get dinner delivered,' that would be fair enough. Note that the local restaurant that we normally use for takeout did just that.
Equitable fraud is when someone enriches themself while basically stealing from someone. That's what this is. Equuitable fraud. They didn't deliver dinner and they are sitting on my money. They also prevented us from eating during dinner time.
I am in business and if this is how I treated customers, I would not be.
This website has no account deletion option on their website, so once you sign up with them you're stuck and they continue to have access to whatever information is on your profile. If I want to delete my account I should have that option. I consider this some sort of scam or trap. You can only use credit cards to order through this site, it doesn't matter if the food is going to be delivered to you or you're going to pick up the order.
Took 2 times and 10 added minutes to enter in driving directions for a delivery person - they never took - just kept getting an error message -called customer service-they just wanted me to wait for the driver and navigate him through -the whole point of the service is convenience - after getting horrible and rude service from a call center agent, hung up and called back a 2nd time to speak to a supervisor - no better - just got a "sorry - we'll look into it." I canceled the order - that's 45 minutes of wasted time - should have checked to see all the other complaints against these guys - don't waste your time - they are an absolute JOKE of a business.
This company need a real webhosting. Thia is the problem. When you use a cheap hosting company with not much support this is what you get. Unfortunately we can't provide one on here becuase it gets traced on to big brother google.
Also according to BBB website we think lots of complaints. There are other food service vendors with better alternatives.
I only had $15.15 on my card and I didn't bring lunch to work today because I planned to order.Stuck at work for 12 hours and needed something to eat.
Tried to submit order 4 times on grub hub. Each time they charged me a $1.20 authorization fee. I know it will come back on the card, but sometimes it takes a business day or more. I don't have enough money to meet any company's minimum order and be able to afford delivery and tip from any company now.
I contacted grub hub and they wouldn't even offer me a coupon so I could bring the order cost down and still be able to eat today. Erica from customer service did not care. She said it was my bank card's fault and there is nothing they can do. They do not advertise when ordering there may be additional charges.
I've never had an authorization placed for anything but gas. I even left enough leeway for a $1 charge just in case.
but not $1.20. As a customer service gesture, they should have at least offered me a coupon so I didn't have to go hungry, and they refused when I asked. She also left the chat before I was able to finish talking to her. Now I'm grumpy and hungry.

when I tried to apply the code I was having trouble so I called customer service. the representative told me to place the order and GrubHub would the apply the $10 coupon
after doing so they called me and told me they could not do that and could not apply the code since they were "refreshing" their computre system.
