Growthink, Inc. Reviews
Firstly, i never take the time to write these ever:
I was online on forbes.com looking up articles on how to write a business plan. Growthink's business plan template popped up in an ad and it seemed legitimate. I purchased the business plan template for $97.50 and was immediately given second and third offer opportunities. I was sold on their "add-on" to the business plan template which was supposedly market research directed by their team of reasearchers that would be delivered within 48 hours of purchase for $97.50. Not only did i never receive an email confirming this second purchase, i never received the service at all. However, they were happy to charge me of course!
Attempts to contact the company will rout you directly to an automated voicemail line requiring you to leave your name, email and phone number. The system or an employee then deploys an automated email stating:
"linda,
We received your voicemail and would be happy to assist you with your growthink needs. Please advise how we can be of assistance and we will respond asap. Best, tara"
There is literally zero response from any emails sent to this email address. In fact i left three voicemails and each one yielded the same result: an auto-response email worded exactly the same from apparently the exact same tara, who apparently had absolutely zero recollection of any prior emails or voicemails that i left. It's only when i finally looked them up on scamion that i now have the full story: it seems this company uses their business plan template as a way to sucker aspiring business owners into unwittingly signing up for many of their non-existent "add-on" services for which they then charge customers repeatedly $97 every month. I called my bank and cancelled my card but as i mentioned attempts to reach any human being at this company seem impossible. Every one of their listed phone numbers re-routs to the recorded automated message asking you to leave a voicemail that receives an automated response from "[email protected]".
I honestly never take the time to write these kinds of things but the fact that this company is parading around on a reputable website like forbes advertising non-existent services is more than alarming!
I have never heard of Growthink, Inc. I have utterly no interest in what they "sell." I have no NEED for what they peddle since I am retired on a pension. I have no recollection of ever having contacted them, visited their web site, or done so much as clicked a link in one. I am very careful about my internet activities and presence. I objected to the charge to my bank, and they responded with "it is a legitimate charge, says Growthink." Well, of course Growthink would respond in that way. But I am the customer and I refuse to let them have $97 for no reason whatsoever. The $97 was debited from my account on January 17, 2018. I filed a report with the bank the next day. It just so happens, however, that my account was hit with SEVERAL fraudulent charges within a short time that day, all in one location, and all resulted in refunds of the fraudulent charges. I suspect there is a link. I will return to the bank and demand proof and once again go over with them the fact that I have no interest in whatever they are peddling, and if there was an inadvertent click or visit to a page resulting in some kind of devious "contract" I will protest it, and then proceed with action against the company with the California Secretary of State, someone who doesn't at all like commercial fraud against consumers. This can all be pre-empted by simply refunding the $97, never charging me again, and most assuredly never, ever contacting me again.
As a first time entrepreneur I cannot describe how upsetting it has been to deal with this company. Although I felt their prices were at the very high end. I was prepared to pay the $17,500 they asked for because I imagined that the plan would be amazing. The opposite happened. It was awful. When I tried to get it fixed they removed the plan and everything else from basecamp. They said they were preparing for litigation. Six months later I have no plan, no refund and rude emails from senior members with sexist comments. My suggestion to all women founders out there is to deal with a company who cares about us. All entrepreneurs beware.

These people are the worst. They charge nearly $400 for generic US census data and call it specific market research. I cant use any of it in a business plan. I asked for a refund when it became clear that they do not have the capability of generating actual market data and she said she spent hours on it so she could not refund. Hours? You think thats the proper amount of time to spend on $400 worth of market data. I could spend hours googling stuff for free. The Competition profile is a list of prices availible on the website and some of them are wrong. That is how I know they just googled the prices, some have not been updated on the website and some are not very specific. If they had done actual market research they would know this. Also a bunch of the statistics didn't even apply to me just my general industry. Huge waste of my time and money! STAY AWAY! Also I put up a complaint on the BBB and there were a lot of other people there who had my same story yet the business repsonce is that these people were just trying to get a refund and that their product is adequate. What crap! They want a refund because your product is worthless!
