I chose to this dealer because they are a family owned business and seemed trust worthy. This turned out to be very far from the truth.
I drove a LONG way to purchase a 2006 DODGE RAM 3500 5.9 Liter Cummins Diesel DRW from this dealer after several phone conversations regarding the vehicle's "clean" condition.
When I got there I noticed right away it had been hit and repaired on the passenger rear quarter. However, it seemed like just a body hit with no frame damage.
The rest of the truck "looked clean" with minimal rust and low mileage for the year. However, the tires were cheap and total junk and they needed to be replaced. The hood struts were also shot.
However, I decided to get the truck since the dealer told me they inspected the vehicle and warrantied it to be clean and in good mechanical condition.
The dealer also claimed had maintenance records that they would get me from the original owner after the sale.
I negotiated a small discount based on the body repair but I was quite annoyed by the fact the dealer chose not to disclose this before I drove 5 hours to get there.
Once back in my neck of the woods I took this to my mechanic that works at Toyota.
The Toyota dealers and the master mechanic who works there know me well there since I own several 80 Series Land Cruisers.
The Toyota mechanic also happens to own the exact same year, make and model DODGE RAM 3500 5.9 Liter Cummins Diesel DRW.
The report I got back was not good.
The truck had frozen calipers, leaking rear seals, totally shot brakes, worn rear axle bearings and a broken electric seat heater that I was not aware of.
The mechanic also confirmed that the truck had worn hood struts, tires and body repairs which I knew about.
In addition, the truck needed a complete maintenance and service which had not been done in a LONG time.
So much for the “Clean, Inspected and Mechanically Perfect” vehicle the dealer sold me.
Clearly, the dealer was dishonest and outright lied to me in order to sell the vehicle.
To make matters worse when presented with this the dealer flat out refused to do anything about it even thought much of it was covered under the dealer warranty.
Not much can be done about the dealer being a liar, cheat and a thief.
However, I am now looking in to small claims court and the attorney general’s office to see what can be done regarding the dealer’s failure to honor their stated warranty.
Bootom line - This is not a reputable or honest dealer. Buyer Beware!
