2.5 years ago my husband and I were looking for a Presa Canario puppy. After countelss days of searching I came across Greenfiled puppies website. I found a breeder in Lancaster selling a pup named Jericho. We called the number on the website and within a few hours we recieved a phone call back. We were infomed the price of $1500.00 and we decided to make the long trip from CT to PA on 4th JUly weekend.
When we arrived to Amish Country we were greeted by childeren cleaning the driveway. One of the boys took us to the barn to show us the puppies and informed us there were others coming to see the puppies as well. The puppies were in a fillthy barn whom they shared with horses. Shortly after the father came out to greet us and informed us the same thing that other families were coming to see Jericho and the puppies and that the puppies were really only 6 weeks and not of the legal age for him to sell but he was willingn to let the puppy go if we gave him the cash.
Since my husband and I made the long trip and fell in love with Jericho we decided to take him home. The breeder said they are eating on their own and he has done this before with out any issues. I asked to see the mother. She was kept in a crate that really didnt give her enough room. SHe looked skinny and mangled. i asked if she was ok and he stated this is what they look like after giving birth. At this point i figured by taking the pup home we are really saving him and named him Neco.
shorlty after bringing him home we took him to his first of many puppy visits. He was giving all the appropriate shots for his age. Later that night i woke up to him coughing really bad. I got up to see that he coughed up a worm the size of my hand. I immediately picked up the worm and put in a bag so i can bring it to the vet the next monring. The vet stated since we gave Neco the proper medication and shots his body will start to shed the worms that he contrated from being in filth and other barn animals. He also stated that since Neco coughted up the worm that meant that he was infested and it was very close to his heart. We monitired this and took him for a follow up visit and he still needed more meds to wipe away the worms from his innocent puppy body.
Neco quickly began to steal hearts of this family and everyone he met. While he was a scared and timid pup he was truly the best dog i ever had owned.
he started to have seizures in July. We took him to countless vet visits tried numerous medications and did alot of blood work. i cant begin to tell you the money we spent but NEco was part of this family and was worth every penny. Shortly after he developed athritis in his back legs. He was not able to climb on the couch or the bed anymore. HE needed our help. After he started to have clusters of seizures which meant more meds and more emergency vet visits. But together we were hopeful and would continue to fight this battle.
Neco lost that batttle at a young age of 2.5yrs old. I had to watch and hold my baby till his heart beat no more. THis has changed this family dramatiically. We lost our baby. i had to explain to my autisitc son that his buddy was no longer with us. He could not understand since Neco was just a baby still.
i ended up doing research on this Greenfiild puppy place and found countless complaints of sick dogs. its a 100% appalling to know they continue to rip apart families. They do not care about these animals all they care about is the money they take from good hearted animal lovers like myself.
i am thankful that i had the opportunity to know my NEco to bond with him and love him but i will continue to make sure no one else has to go through this again. THESE MONSTERS NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN. you cannot continue to sell puppies that are sick and interbred.
SHAME ON EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU
you need to be shut down and i hope when you cant sleep at night these stories haunt you.
I purchased a puppy from Greenfield puppies.com. Prior to purchasing a dog from this site, I reached out to confirm that they do not promote puppy mills. I ended up purchasing a puppy from here in September. Now in December, my puppy is still very sick. I have spent over $2,500 in vet bills and have been to the vet almost every other week. He has seen 3 different vets, all who are unable to diagnose his sickness and believe it is a breeding issue.
If you begin to research this site you will see that they have previously been noticed as a website that hosts puppy mills. I reached out to them regarding my concern to then shortly be told after that I was harassing them. Being a dog lover and animal lover, of course, I want to be sure that I am supporting nothing but breeders who concern is the dogs' health and not just money. It seems that this site is more about money than anything.
The background search they conduct is NOT thorough as much as they claim. They may actually host real breeders but they also have a bunch of puppy mills on their site. Because of this, I would keep away because its a gamble if you'll get a healthy pup or not. Be sure to research the breeders! I researched several and 4/5 had a previous record of being investigated
Greenfield has been known to host puppy mills - and their screening process is not thorough enough...clearly...
I purchased a dog from using this website last year. The "breeder" is Jesse Lapp from Gordonville, PA. Our puppy ended up getting aggressive cancer at just 14 months old. This is the result of a puppy mill dog... over breeding leading to genetic mutation. Greenfield will not help me. They will not even give me information on the breeder! Not even a phone number. The man is now selling puppies of a different breed on another web site. Greenfield told me I have no hard evidence of any of this so I can't hold them accountable. Do not use this website to buy a dog!!
Puppy Mill's use this site. The Site's husband and wife team that dont even list their real address. They take pictures of the Amish puppies and collect 8% of each puppy sale. They don't care that 4-8 dogs live at the farm/house breeding, and selling these dogs. They don't care that they come out to advertise the puppies from the same Mom twice a year (every heat cycle) since she is able to conceive into old age. They look past horrible conditions in the name of making money. This Site needs to be exposed.
