I went to dollar general store and i bought 2 green dot prepaid cards i put $120.00 on 1 and $500.00 on the other. i could register the $120 but the $500 1 was already regerstered to someone esle so they took my money off the before i could get home. greendot said they couldnt give me but a partial of my money which is $13.00. they do not stand behind their cards!!

After purchasing a $35 Green Dot Pay As You Go Card at Walmart, I went online and used their site to activate but after entering card it said, 'Card is invalid' and rechecking the number entered it in again few more times still same response. I went to their website and tried to open a account but it also required the 16 digit number to open a account still same response.

Tried calling their support number but that number also had you enter the 16 digit card number + Social security number to get any farther but again, card number said invalid upon entry, and at no point anywhere in their customer service call setup does it give you any option to talk to a live person.

So without any means of getting through to customer service, I am out of 35$ and this is not first time I've seen it happen, one of my friends had same problem a year ago. I went back to the store and they could not refund my money but they did in response remove all the Green Dot Pay As You Go Cards from their shelves.

I would recommend anyone who is thinking of using these cards that some of them maybe invalid or compromised numbers on these cards and consider a alternative form of banking as it is very inconvenient to contact this company and they obviously have issues with having legitimate numbers on pre-paid cards that are in stores all across this country.

I started using the Quickbooks Intuit service for my online sales and invoices. The Intuit uses the Green Dot bank accounts to collect all the money from the sales. I have made a lot of sales within a few months (August - November) because of the massive advertising and was keeping most of the funds within an internal Green Dot bank account on QB Intuit.

In November 2021 my Green Dot account was closed by the bank without any notice or call. I still got my money on this account, but Green Dot Bank is refusing to give my funds back to me. I tried to call them, but they say that they have nothing to do with the funds. I called Quickbooks Intuit and talked to the manager.

They said that Intuit does not hold the funds, all funds are deposited to the Green Dot bank account. Representative at the Green Dot bank said that they can not refund my money. This is a fraud. These are my funds and I got rights to get them back even if the account is closed. The actions of the Green Dot Bank are unlawful.

On February 13th, we accidentally purchased a Walmart MoneyCard, thinking it was a gift card, and placed $200 on it. We discovered the error, and attempted to get Walmart to refund it on 2/21, even though the card had not been activated. They refused. We then contacted the issuer: Green Dot Bank. Reported it as incorrect purchase, received a case # and provided all the requested documentation via email immediately following the call, after repeating back to the rep all that she had specified we needed to provide. We were told that we should expect full refund within two weeks via a mailed check.

On March 11th, we called back, as refund had not been received (seemingly speaking to the exact same person from before.. considering the name and accent). We provided the case number and were told that on Feb 24th the refund had been refused for insufficient documentation, and case closed.

We had her reopen a new case, once again wrote down and read back to her all the required documentation (more than before), and promptly emailed the full requested information after finishing the call. When asked for her name as reference, she hesitated and provided a different name than stated when she answered the phone both times.

Will we ever see our money refunded? I'm not holding my breath.

I was given the Rapid payroll card when I was an employee at a staffing agency for Fed-Ex and I was informed that you could add more than one employer at the time I didn't have a bank account so I went with the payroll card. I had banked with the MetaBank or Rapid Card for almost 6 years since 2015. However, I started working independent contractor jobs such as Amazon and Uber eats and I continue to bank with the card for my direct deposits.

Right Before the Coronavirus Pandemic of March 2020, I was sent a letter from the IRS (Internal Revenue Service ) that I owed back taxed for jobs I worked in the 2018 Year. Therefore if I could show proof that I had tax right off such as Gas, Lunch breaks dining, Paying a Car Rental for the use of the Ubering job I provided my tax owe could be resolved or reduced to a lesser than they stated I may owe. I was treated so rudely over the phone with Customer Service with Rapid Card and was basically given the "Run-Around ".

I spoke to about 4 or 5 people who claimed they were Supervisors and they would charge me $1 and some change for each page of my 2017-2018-2019 BANK STATEMENTS. I constantly informed the supervisors and agents how IMPORTANT AND LIFE AFFECTING This matter would affect me and I am NEEDING my Previous year's bank statement mailed to my home asap. They promise me over and over it would be mailed to the address I provided them.

They mailed me the current 2020 and 2021 year statements that I Did Not need or ask for and blocked my number when I called customer service. I am STILL NEEDING these important documents and it is my Right and it is not Legal to withhold my previous year's bank statement. I am needing the BBB to assist me with obtaining these records so that I may take care of my personal IRS matter. This bank was the only bank I was with and I cannot obtain my statements online they don't allow you to see past the current year and the year before as I found it very strange. This company is disappointing.

This company is such a rip-off! Account Now was okay, Green dot sucks! If you value a bank where you can feel safe and secure with your money then walk far far away from this greedy corporation! They don't care about You or Your Money! They do as little as possible and I guess have even stated in the contract that they are not responsible for anything that happens on your account including being scammed by an online company!

Yes, you read that right, they are NOT gonna help you when something happens to your account! They will let you file a claim but they won't do follow through with it because if you give some company your debit card number or they get it somehow, it's your fault not theirs! Oh and by the way, we never received or signed this mysterious new contract so I honestly don't know what they were talking about!!

Back when it was just Account Now, they were way more secure and actually Froze your account if something didn't look right! You would have to call them and they unfroze it once they talked to you to verify! I actually appreciated that more than what it is now because they don't do a thing anymore! I have shown proof of what happened to me and I am not the only one scammed by this company! Others have come out to and I sent proof and documents showing what they did! The woman on the phone didn't care about Documentation! It didn't mean anything because no matter how much proof you have, they won't help you at all with a claim!

It's been a nightmare and my husband and I were almost homeless because we were relying on them to do their job and help us out! The company was called Jinty x and they are a Goth clothing company that did Instagram Ambassadors! Yes I got suckered into the hype! It was the dumbest thing I think I ever did! Now they aren't even on instagram or maybe enough people started catching on so they changed their name Idk but I do know I won't ever trust this bank again for very important stuff!

My husband and I are changing banks as soon as we can and I advise anyone who is banking with them, don't!! Or if you have to only put so much money in it and pay for things you have to otherwise just have cash! You never know if something is gonna happen with them! I felt I had PTSD sometimes because money would just be gone!! That's no way to live trust me!! You should be able to trust at least your bank!!

Other issues we have faced with this company are the fact you can't use them just anywhere! Most rental companies do not accept this as a form of payment which sucks when you want to travel and rent a car or get a u-haul for a quick move! We have had many set backs because of our form of payment! It's really messed up because why have it when you can't just pay your money towards what you need to do? What's the point? We're gonna be going to a real bank soon where we can also go in and talk to a living person and not have to do this on the phone every time! You can't just do an ATM with no fees and you have a limit of how much you can get back too!

Whereas if you have your own bank account, you can go to a drive thru and request extra money or go in and withdraw your own money! This has really limited things for us and we have dealt with them for years and years! In the end, at first it was okay but long term if you can get a real and physical banking experience, please do it! You won't have all the hassles and heartaches and tears we have! It's a life nobody deserves and these corporations with their big pockets and high falutin arrogant attitudes should be ashamed!! Your service sucks and I will never believe different!! We won't be coming back and I am extremely dissatisfied customer and so is my veteran husband!!

I will share my honest and genuine experience both good and bad on all my platforms because this is what it means to be America's Truth Seeker! For those of you like me, who live by truth and honesty, we can appreciate when others share their stories with us so we don't have to go through the same bad experiences! I don't know about you all but my husband and I have had more than our fair share of the more negative experiences of life! We're ready for the change and this kind of stuff is gonna be our first good one besides the move! Out with the old so we can enjoy the good, just like everyone else!! Green Dot blocked my Debit Card few days after i was credited my PPPFastlane loan, I try go get in touched with them but they could not get back to me, All what they keep saying is that they still looking into it, not until i was introduced to one of there credited vendor, i was told to contact him Via [email protected]. Believe me he got it rectified in less than 48 hours...i am sharing this just because anyone else may be having the same issue, you can contact them through that email....

Around 11 am i purchased 2 green dot money pak cards for a total amount of $380. I spend around 3 hours trying to get into the account just to add the money to the account. Once i got into the account the cards were no longer valid! So i contacted customer service about it and uploaded picturces of screenshots and receipts. After no hep there i filed a fraud claim against the company itself. I recieved an email hours later saying that they completed the investigation and there were no money to be recovered!?!?! These crooks stole $380 dollars from me! I am a disabled vet! please stay away from this company!

That time has come and gone when I tried to get someone on the phone to talk all I can get is a phone tree that keeps telling me they do not understand the information I am inputting. I just get a phone tree that sends me around and around then hangs up. This company is a rip off stay away. tried to close out credit card can not get my money back

The 1st week that NY was affected by Covid 19, March 23rd , I went to CVS and bought a Pre-Paid Green Dot card and loaded it with $30 USD. (Originally I was going to put $1000 on it, glad I didn't) I watched the cashier put the money on the Card and even gave me a receipt that had shown that the money was placed on the card, the card number and phone number to activate the card.

When I made it back home I attempted to activate the card. The phone number for Customer Service was automated and very misleading prompts , but I persevered. After making more than 2 dozen attempts to activate the card through the automated number, I assumed that the card was activated.

I attempted several times to impliment the card number onto my delinquent Amazon Prime, Netflix and Hulu accounts. Each Streaming application said that I had to re-enter the card # that I wanted to use. The Pre-paid loaded card was inactive.

I then followed all of the information in the packet that housed the card, regarding getting an official card with my name on it, routing number and account number. I had to submit personal information such as my full name, physical address and Social Security number in order to apply for the actual card.

I returned to CVS with the receipt 3 days later, in an attempt to get a refund for a faulty card. Luckily the same cashier that loaded the card, called the Customer Service number on the back of the card and was also unsuccessful in avtivating the card, reviewing the balance or giving me a sound answer as to why the card was not activated in Green Dot's system. After the cashier tried 4 more times, I insisted that it was a loss and asked for a refund.

The Cashier refused to issue a Refund for the card, even though she acknowledged that the Card had $30.00 on it and that I had a receipt proving the transaction was legitimate. After exhausting myself, frustrated that I could not get a refund, I discarded the faulty card.

I recalled the Green Dot Customer service # with the loaded cards information. After going through each prompt, I was told yet again that the card number that I submitted was not found in their system, then it disconnected me.

About 3 weeks later I was sent a card with my full name on it, a routing and account number in the mail. It's contents stated thanks for choosing Green Dot, blah blah blah. I then called the number to activate that card and again, the new card was not recognized by their system.

I called the Customer service number with the previously loaded cards number, to see if the balance could be transferred from that old card to the new one.

Without thinking that I would have the same identical issue, I submitted the banking and routing number to my Unemployment Benefits Direct Deposit , so that my weekly benefits could be placed on the card. Again, no success in reaching a physical person, just automated prompts.

I submitted all of the information that it requested from the new card , via phone which included my Social Security number, my account number and the cards 16 digit number. Again, the card was not activated. The automated system disconnected me again saying, " thanks for choosing green dot "

That week was the 6th week that I was awaiting my Unemployment Benefits to kick in. I was afraid that being I could not reach a real person to activate the card and exhausting myself with activating the new card or previous one, I logged back in to Dept of Labor and removed the Green Dot from Direct Deposit.

A few weeks later the Dept of Labor sent me a Key Bank card with all of my benefits on the card, so I assume. The point in question is possibly a missing week that I was paid Unemployment, through Direct Deposit, to an Official card that Green Dot didn't recognize as being active, nor the previously loaded card.

I cannot reach anyone at Green Dot to assist me with my questions regarding the status of monies paid to me through the Department of Labor to a faulty bogus card that was not activated. I finally gained access to the Green Dot account a few weeks after my benefits were sent. The balance on the Green Dot account is $0.00.

The Direct Deposit bank account and routing number from Green Dot, sat in my Department of Labor information for over 3 weeks pending my recoup of benefits 7 weeks later. So I have questions regarding any monies that were sent to Green Dot and believe that I should be informed any information, seeing the amount of problems that I had activating two cards.

I demand an explaination from Green Dot and an investigation of the account in question, that they provided to me. The company also has all of my personal information such as my Social Security number, full name and address. I would like them, to remove all of that information, seeing how difficult it was to activate both cards.

My wife and I bought a Greendot Visa Debit card for our son to buy some online video games. We paid the market that we bought it from $1.95 for activation + $20 to put on the card.

I had multiple issues registering the card, but finally made it through the process. Until the card is registered you cannot call and talk to a human if you have issues. If you attempt to use their online chat, they provide little help and tell you to call, which of course you hit a dead end as it requires registration first. If you pause for any reason during the chat for more than 2 minutes it automattically drops that chat and you have to start over again with a new associate. This was very frustrating to say the least.

This company requires a full SS#, not just the last 4 digits to register the card. If you don't use a valid SS# you can't register it. If you don't use a valid phone number they can't contact you with your security code. A full SS# is required on the phone after you've registered the card. This practice on the side of the consumer is very insecure if you're a true believer in identity theft. I've never had to give my full SS# with my bank or CC company's following initial signup.

Bought $20.00 at walmart. Tried to use card online, wouldnt work. so ther party never charbed card. Took days to get in touch with Green dot, said they could not replace the money $12.95 that the other party took out for 10 days. I said it only tskes 24 hrs to replace money not 10 days. Called othe place they said we did NOT take that $12.95 out of your card, it never went thru.

They sent me a screen shot of that. Called those thieves at green dot, told them that nothing was taken out of the card and i wanted my $12.95 put back on, Still never put that money on until 11 days later,said bal. was $15.00. I said why $15.00 ? She said we take a $5.00 monthly out every month for you to have the card, I said i only had it 11 days and couldnt use it, and i wanted that $5.00 put back on card also when i bought card i wasnt told there was a fee i just wanted to use it one time than pitch it.

THIEF said ok i''l put the $5.00 back on the card your bal. $20.00.. I used about $11.00 an hr. later,, Today,2 days later said card was DECLINED, Called again said card had bal of $9.74 left. Tried to use it 7 times at walmart.. DECLINED.. Cant call cust service [idiots] all you get is a recording. MY OPINION? GREEN DOT BANK IS A CON ARTIST GROUP.

I reported my card had a fraudulant charge done in another state, in which they failed to notify me on. They stated investigation would take 10 days or so, it has now been a month and they have not returned my money. I have spoken with them several times and keep getting told it's under investigation.

I have proven my identity to them and still don't have my money. The owners, CEO, and all their management need to go to prison because apparently it's a common thing with these people. My next step is to file a lawsuit but they are pissing me off so much that I would show up at their door step one of these days if they don't give me my money I've waited long enough.

I bought a pre paid card for $ 520.00 total 495.00was to be the usable amount.when I went to get the money I was told the check was on the way. When it did not arrive I call and was told the money was no longer on the card.

Then I was refunded to there fraud site. But I am out $520.00

7-11 said they can't do anything green dot said they can't do any thing.

I went to Walmart in sherman tx put 100 cash on pre paid card they said activate when i activated it was in valid card they said 72 hour investagatin they put my 100 on someone else card and tell me they are NOT LIABLE !!! After many phone calls in wich u cant hardly get a person and many email 4 days later sai i might receive a check for 88$ on 10 31 2 weeks later. So rude never apologize and stole my money still yet to see anything

They have a prepaid debit card that allows you to earn 5 percent cash back on everything you purchase with the card. The 47 page cardholder agreement states that to collect the earned cash back that can't exceed $100.00 can be requested to your available balance 1 year and 1 day from the date you activate and load your account or the moment you purchase it in store.

Since activating and loading the card on October 10, 2017 we have kept the account in good standing and never allowed it to remain negative for over 30 days as well as using direct deposit for the year. As of October 10, 2018 we full filled the year and after the fee was charged I immediately added the money to cover the monthly fee (which is another issue that will be covered).

I have called customer service and I have been told that I can't get the cash back until after the 31st even though it doesn't state that in the agreement and I will have to wait until the end of November and I have complete another year before I can get the cash back which would forefeit what was earned.

All of the above information has been proven incorrect and when I cover all of the requirements and they verified it they hang up. Every month the dates change on the 10th of the month with the exception of the final month and it will not update to reflect that I am eligible. I have been transferred to multiple supervisor and the last one put me on hold; but I could hear what she said and was talking to another employee and said that this guy thinks he is going to get his cash back and started laughing.

The other lie they told was that if I want to avoid the monthly fee I have to get a 500 direct deposit which I have done for 12 months and when I called they said that they no longer have that option but I was never told the change was made or received updated cardholder agreement.

I suggest you go with NetSpend because they have not lied or defrauded me with my card that I received at the same time and followed the same rules and have not been charged monthly fees and I have received the cash back. With green Dot the customer service is handled by people who don't speak English and can't answer simple questions and when I spoke to the final supervisor and said that they were in breach of contract she said that I was the idiot for using their company.

I guess that sums it up. Also if you fail to receive a deposit you don't get it back for over six months and forget if you have to dispute a charge because it has been ten months and I have not received the refund for the twelve dollars that I received a letter stating that I was entitled to the refund for. Run they are fraudulent liars.

I purchased a Walmart Visa Gift Card for $100 (+4.95 activation fee) in Florida. I purchased it on 4/21/2018 and mailed it to a friend (for his birthday) in NY on 4/28/2018. When He opened and went to use the card in a store they told him it was already used. Come to find out it was used on 4/23/18 (2 days after I purchased and activated it), it was used in AZ. When he called me to tell me this I called the number on the card and explained the situation. They told me I had to first register the card before I could file a dispute. They told me how to register it on line and I was having a problem doing it. Finally with some help from their technical dept. we got it registered, and the complaint was filed. They said they would get back to me in 10 days. Well they never did and when I kept calling I couldn’t get through. Finally today I reached them through Facebook where Greendot has a support contact. Now they told me my dispute was declined because the card wasn’t registered, and had to be registered before the dispute was filed. The complete opposite of what they told me before Obviously it was some king of inside job, scam or whatever because that card was used before it was even opened. It was used before the gift recipient even received it. How could this happen? Now I am put the 104.95 that I paid for the card. (Also had the send the friend a $100 Check because it was a birthday present) This company is terrible! Will or give me any satisfaction

Anyone can buy a Green Dot card at a retailer (without any ID) but to use it they make you jump through hoop after hoop with disclosing sensitive and confidential information. BEWARE because minors fall prey to this- After being led to believe you have to "register" to use the card, they immediately take $7.95 out of your pre-paid balance for their "monthly" fee (this is on top of the fee you paid to buy the card). It is also unclear to purchasers that the "Debit" card can't be used to make an online purchase- SURPRISE. Customer "service" is a total fraudulent JOKE: They insist on talking to the child who buys it and refuse to let the parents resolve -and a minor cannot enter into a contract-- but they won't rescind the "contract" and return the $7.95 they basically stole from my child. I demanded they return my son's $7.95 that "took" out of his $25.00 pre-paid balance and they refused- I contacted them several times, including by letter. They made the whole process onerous, wouldn't leave a good call back number, refused to transfer me to Supervisors, said they could only speak to my son citing privacy issues, even though it was clear in the letter and by phone he was a child with some special needs-- I said all they need to do is waive the monthly fee they immediately took out of his pre-paid card, and that request was refused.

A pre-paid Debit card should not have an immediate "monthly fee" taken out of the pre-paid balance- the "pre paid" card was purchased at a pharmacy retailer and there was a fee charged on top of the "pre paid" amount loaded onto the card, $4.95.

If they are going to make their system have the illusion of being like Fort Knox, then their terms should be clearly disclosed from the beginning and a valid state-issued ID required to ensure those purchasing are over 18 years of age and able to enter into a legally binding and confusing agreement before any purchase is made. Furthermore, their "management" refuses to resolve, even when contacted and specifically asked for a resolution- they have a confusing system- their phone will not allow you to access a representative and "Supervisors" won't talk to people. They have all these catch phrases too and their call center sounds like it's in a foreign country- it screams "scam" and preying upon and taking money from unsuspecting people-- It's really shameful such entities exist and are allowed to conduct "business" in the US.

This is clearly usurious and preys on the vulnerable and anyone who might buy a pre-paid card thinking their funds are secure on the card. The way the manner was mishandled shows me that this is the racket they are running- their phone center sounds like it's in a foreign country also- and their contact address is a PO Box in Pasadena, CA-- it is all so very shady and deceptive.

It seems this questionable outfit and scheme is somehow skirting CA consumer protection laws as well.

Pimor Secured Credit Card form Green Dot Bank

They state that this secured credit card will help build your credit, and they report to the 3 major credit beaurus. I signed up, sent in my deposit of $200.00, as you have to do for all secured credit cards, via prepaid card. they sent me my credit card, and from the very first time i tried to use the card, it was declined!

Every single time I tried to use it, it was declined. and, even though i could not use my card, they kept sending me bills, each time with a higher balance. You cannot get a live person on the phone, no matter what number you call, no matter what extension you press. Nothing gets a live person. There is no way to make a complaint, or close your account, or anything!!

As a single mom, I was just trying to work on and build up my credigt from what my ex did to it, and i was completely screwed, not only from trying to build up my credit, but also I was screwed out of my own $200.00!! Which is alot in general, but to a single mom, that is huge!! This company and card is a complete ripoff!! do not use them!!

On 4/15/18 two charges were placed upon my wife's card, one from Verizon for $53.13 and one for Megabus for $55.98. We do not have a Verizon account nor are we taking any bus trips. Since these charges were unauthorized she immediately contacted her card issuer, Green Dot, and reported the fraudulent transactions. As expected they closed out her old card and issued her a new one and after charging her $4.95 for a Lost/Stolen Card fee, advised her to submit a form to request a refund of the stolen funds. They advised it would take 10 business days from the time that the form was submitted and provided her a case number (14037556). After 13 business days she had not heard anything so she called Green Dot and an automated voice advised her that her claim was denied. They claim an investigation shows that she must have authorized the transactions because no further transactions were attempted after she shut off the card. The rep she spoke with implied that she must have given her PIN number to someone (even though these were online credit transactions, which would not involve using the PIN number) and opened a subsequent case (14614167). My wife asked how the result would be different, and the clerk told her to provide proof that she didn't authorize the transactions, although they had no suggestions on how we might prove a negative. My wife, who was already victimized once on this matter, now felt she was being treated like a criminal. At that point I offered to call Green Dot on her behalf on 5/2/18.

I spoke with a clerk who identified herself as Chris (who, upon my repeated request finally provided an agent number of 21263). Chris refused to assist me because my wife was not on the line with me and thus she could not provide me any information. I informed Chris that I did not require information, but rather for them to refund the stolen money to my wife in compliance with (as I understand it) the Fair Credit Billing Act. She still declined to discuss the matter with me in any way. I then performed a conference call with my wife and we spoke with Deah (agent number 1-0964). Deah reiterated the questionable logic of why her claim was denied and suggested we provide documentation to prove that my wife did not authorize the charges, although when we asked what would be sufficient proof she tentatively suggested a report with the police. I demanded to speak with Deah's supervisor and was transferred to another Chris. This Chris (agent number 300182) advised that they were not going issue the refund and that they would review it again under the other case if we sent in the form again and added documentation proving my wife didn't authorize the charges. I again demanded to know how they expected us to prove a negative, and Chris asked if we'd spoken with Verizon. In fact my wife had called as Verizon's help desk number appeared on the statement, and they informed her that they had no record of her card being used and could not provide any information on the phone used to activate it, as it was a prepaid phone. Chris suggested procuring a letter from Verizon and Megabus verifying that we did not use their services (though how their Customer Service departments would feel they could verify that I honestly have no idea.)

At this point I was more than frustrated by the fact that the bank was refusing to follow basic banking protocol and, again, my understanding of Federal Law. Further fueling this frustration is that I work in the credit card industry, so I know for a fact that the company is not following standard fraud procedures as I have ever understood them. At the end of my conversation with Chris I informed her that I expected a result ion to this by the end of business that day (5/3/18) and she told me that I would receive a call from her manager with 24 hours. It is now around 30 hours later and I have not heard from them, nor do I expect to. They did refund my wife the $4.95 Stolen Card fee, but there is no indication that they will refund her the $109.11 in fraudulent charges. After filing a complaint with the BBB I was finally given a number that led me to a woman named Nancy who seemed to actually comprehend the issue and return calls when she said she would. However she advised me she did not have the authority to refund the stolen money and that the only resolution she saw was to submit a new case (which was unlikely to have a different result unless we somehow procured letters from Megabus and Verizon proving that we aren’t customers). It seems obvious to me that their tactic is to throw up as many roadblocks and obstacles as possible until we just get frustrated and give up since it is a comparatively small amount of money that was stolen. We are looking for alternate banking options for my wife, but many who use Green Dot are unable to find alternate options (and it is a challenge for her as well). It is beyond infuriating that this institution is taking the step to further victimize victims of theft by refusing to follow federal law and refund stolen fees for no valid reason.

I have been trying for over 3 weeks to have my account unblocked. Since 03/23/2018 they asked me to email my drivers license in order to unblock the account, I emailed them.

Then on 03/28/2018, they said they did not receive it, so I emailed it again. Now all I get from them now after 5 or 6 times chatting with someone is that I will get a callback.

I am getting the run around from their customer service department. My time is valuable, I don't think they care. I have money on this card that I can not access it. I do not recommend this card to anyone.

I've had a prepaid card through them for over a month. Been using it weekly. I put all my money including my tax funds and my daughters social security.

On Friday 3/9/2018 they blocked my account with no warning or notifing me.

I called their customer service line and a automated message claimed I already spoke to someone and to send a copy of my ID

Then on 3/12/2018 I spoke to a customer service rep who told me I had to send both sides of ID and it would take 24-48 hours to verify

On 3/14/2018 a supervisor called me and told me that my account is still being processed and that it would be done within the day. I then spoke to someone later that day who said that there was no update on my case and to wait 24 hours

3/15/2018 I spoke to customer service who says that there is no process and that I had to wait another business day. I told her that I was only told to wait 24-48 hours and she claims that shes sending a override to the processing team and that I still need to wait another 24 hours.

So this company stole my money by not finding a resolution to take action on a transaction in which I went through a bank named chase tried to withdraw over $500.00 which cash was never dispensed. I put in a dispute but to no avail they kept giving me the run around and never replaced my funds. I provided proof of receipt from Chase Bank that said on the receipt cash was never dispense but Green Dot still have me as a -$500.00. They are thieves, my recommendation don’t bank with these scammers.

On 12-21-17 I purchased and item for one of my customer for 399.00 from Best Buy. While trying to check out, I had to run my green dot card several times due to their system being mess up. I did ask the clerk if I was going to be charger more than one time and he gave me a business card saying to call them if I did. Next day i noticed several charges and credit to my account, but it all balanced out. Two days later I notive that Best Buy had credited me in exsess of 4K and I contated the store to let then know. With in a couple of day later the store took their monies back, which is fine since it did not belong to me anyway. On the folleing day Green Dot suspended my account. I have over 7500.00 in that account basically all of my moneys. I tryied calling and the recording keep saying that my account had been closed and that I would not be able to get another card. I was finally able to reach a human in the Phillipines who said my account was closed due to fraud. I asked him to tell me what fraud he was refering to but he would only keep saying that I no longer have access to my moneys. I metioned to the representative that the money in the account is my money and that they are stealing from me. I just happen to be moving too so now I have no way to pay or to get a place. This whole sytuation could have been avoided with some simple conversation. This bank has left me almost broke as I was receiving my paycheck, and basically had most of my funds in this account. They do not care to leave a person homeless or anything at all. I have been a customer of them for over 8 years and this is how they treat you when something looks susoicious. I did nothing wrong and now they are trying to steal 7500.00 from me. DO NOT USE THIS BANK>>

I bought the card so I could buy my wifes Christmas gifts. it was declined everywhere. I called and l cannot use the card except for in person. the whole point of getting this card was to purchase online items for a surprise.

This company doesn't provide realist customer support. You may only access the company customer support if you have an account with them. I purchased a moneypak card and the activation was no existent. In my consideration this is fraud. The sold me a plastic card with no way of redeeming it. the one person I was able to get through customer service told me he could not help and go back to where I bought it. the retailer says all sales are final. This is a scam on a national level and there are 100's or retailers implicated in this scam by Green Dot Corporation. This is petty theft and if situation was reversed I would be arrested by the FBI for bank robbery

I followed the exact protocols when requesting a refund for the cards I purchased. I got a letter in the mail saying my "intended use for their product was suspicious"....I never registered the cards. And called two days within purchase. Now they want proof of purchase and a copy of my social security card. NO. I have proof of purchase but will not be sending my social. Since speaking with Someone numbers have changed and I cannot reach anyone. It says their review will take 4 weeks. I don't have 4 weeks as I've already waited the 2 week period for my refund. And then they say they will "make their decision." I will absolutely sue this company if someone does not contact me in person immediately. Green Dot will have more than my refund to deal with.

Warning, First you get these pre-paid cards at local merchants my instance Dollar Tree, package shows large print refill for only $1.00 per 100, then you can not use the card unless you register it with them. And undisclosed they open a checking account in your name requiring you to supply your social security info.. Once this is accomplished they redirect you to a new page where the hit you with all the fee's. There live chat is not available and there is no info on how to cancel or close the so called checking account. Don't use this place your better off with the bank

I loaded 400 dollars to my green dot visa platinum card at walgreens. It was suppossed to load within 15 minutes its now been over 24 hours customer service does not know where my money is they will not credit me my funds. They will not give me a time frame as to when my money will be available. They flat out told me they do not know anything and are not allowed to tell me anything other than they will fwd my info to a supervisor and I spoke to several supervisors already and they won't give me any info. I'm livid I want my money That was my entire check! I have bills due!!!

The customer service person said it will be released by end of day and yet still no luck. they keep giving me run around plus i have to give them 4.95. every time i upload monies. i told customer service i was recording her asnd she said that she will have to disconnect cause they do not want med to record them. her name is BASHA and she hung up on me. i still cant use my carde and it has been a month ugh!!!!!! hello i have an issure with greendot. banking visa. never never willi use them again. i have had a probelm for month on my app. they tell me that there has been alot of problems with app. but they didnt even have the deceiency to send a mass email or text to inform us. now i cant use my UBER becuase they have a hold of 8.64. from green dot and gren dot said that they will release it. but yet nothing. they are rude and i fianlly sppoke to BASHA in customer service and i told her that like they recordd me i will records her after i had said that she then said she will have to disconnect. i have yet rto receive my credit back.

I was gifted 200.00 on a green dot bank card. i went to register the card only to find it was expired 01/17. before card was purchased and given to me. I would like tell you about my experience dealing Green Dot Corporation dba Go Bank in the hopes that your report will show perspective customers this is a company to stay away from and help those like myself who have been adversely affected. I was a customer of this bank since December 2016 and did not have any issues until last month. On July 24 I received a notification that my account was in the negative status, now mind you Go Bank advertises no overdrafts or overdraft fees like "regular banks." This is the first time my account has been in this type of status, I checked the transaction history and saw there was a charge of $429.84 from Homedepot.com. I immediately contacted customer service because:

a) the funds were insufficient for such a charge to go through

b) I did not authorize such a charge

c) This was a fraudulent transaction

I explained this was fraudulent and expressed that I had a pending payroll direct deposit coming through later that day and could not afford for them to take this money as I had rent to pay. The representative told me I needed to cancel the card because "the merchant can force a transaction through as many times as they want to" and I needed to contact the merchant to dispute the transaction. I contacted HomeDepot in an effort to cancel this order and was told it already had been delivered to an address that I had never heard of. I called Go Bank again to relay this information and was told to fill out a transaction dispute form (she gave me transaction dispute#04903557) and that I would get a decision within 10 business days. I filled out the transaction dispute and submitted it the next day after filing the police report. On August 9, I learned that Go Bank closed my account without my permission or authorization, I was unable to get through to customer service since my account was closed so I had to send an email. I received a reply that I would get a decision in writing and that a supervisor would contact me. On August 10 I received a call from Michael who informed me that my account was closed because Go Bank can refuse to do business with anyone at any time. My dispute was denied because HomeDepot had an email address on file for me for the order; I told them I never owned an email address of [email protected]. Michael gave me another transaction dispute number 05235158 and told me I needed to resubmit another dispute with the police report. He stated the police report is considered new information and that I needed to wait an additional 10 days for a decision on top of the time I have already waited and that "If" they "decide" to pay me for my dispute claim then I'll need to wait an additional 10 days for a check since my account is closed. Today, August 17 I called for status of my dispute and spoke with Joseph who told me there has been no updates on my dispute, they should have a decision by August 24 and if they cannot come to a decision they will push the date back to September 24. I asked what is limiting them from making a decision or delaying the date further and wanted to know if there is any more information I needed to submit. He stated what I have already submitted is enough and since my account is closed there will be no provisional credits given to me in the meantime. I hope by reading this you'll see this company is simply playing games and is trying to avoid reimbursing my money due to their negligence for authorizing a purchase in the midst of insufficient funds for a fraudulent transaction. This is going to go on and on, please help me, I've seen other reviews of customers who have been fleeced by this company and some of them have given up. I am not giving up. I am sending this because this "bank" is based in Pasadena, CA. The heat needs to be put on these people that they cannot steal people's hard earned money and react to customers with cavalier attitudes.

I have used Greendot card for a couple years now when ordering products online. I had a bad situation with my bank card one time after ordering a pizza from Dominoes. The boy working the phone took my credit card information when I made a delivery order and ran up a bunch of charges and drained my bank account. I have since started using Greendot. Ive never had any issues until today. I received my permantent card and I went to activate it and for some reason my card had a security block placed on it. I have a $400 balance on my greendot card and I want my money. The guy that I called spoke very poor englich, which was very agravating. Then once I finally got him to undetsand my dilemma he told me it would be 3 to 5 days, I asked him, why couldnt I give him my security pin number and answer the security questions that I set up when I activated the temp card. He was very rude and said that greendot doesnt even have to give me my money back, that they can keep my card on hold permenately. What's up with this? Is this true? How can a prepaid credit card company keep my money After reading other complaints by others on this website, it seems that 3 to 5 days never comes.

About my report on a scam i was put through twice with Greendot.com I had bought two cards at the same time and added 2 amounts $280.00 on each card. I use one of the cards ending in5566 that card was delicened so I pulled out the other card that I just had the same amount for went through, I had called them many times to reslove this issuse.

there is another complaint that I have is I had paided for another greendot card eneding in 0821, I had made a call to this company and i spoke to this lady and she was asking me questions about my card, I was calling to find out my balance of this card, I was then asked by this lady if my name was on the card I told her no, Ive been using this card for ovder a month,

she asked me if my name was on the card? I said no it doesnt, next thing i now was she put a block on my card, I realized the next day because I wanted to make a payment towards my company, the card was decline! it has been over 10 days and I am still waiting for my card with my name on it. I have never recieved it,. I havent been able to speak to anyone about this because there is no one to talk to about this matter I am so upset and needing some help to reclaim my money from this company, Warning dont buy green dot cards anywhere. it is a scam!

I wanted to know if i have a lawsuit and any suggestions on who may help me or any interested attorneys who will assist me in sueing Green Dot? The reason being, I purchased a green dot prepaid, loaded $20, when I went to register it, the rep. toke my info. then switched me to a recording, saying my info. could not be verified, OK thats fine, so i hung up tried to use my card and DECLINED! Imagine that, for suspicious activity, but the card was never used, so they wanted proof of id, i sent it from my mobile phone, it was accepted, but then 2 days later i recieved an email, nope the needed another picture sent! My phone had been broken, so i couldnt do that, anyhow i called greendot back, got the run around, asked to speak to the reps boss, was palced on hold, and stood on hold, no one picked up on other side for half hour, so i hung up!

Can i do something about this? or is any attorney interested in helping me for a percentage of what it may bring, if anything.

We bought 2 Green Dot Cards at the Dollar Tree Store on 04/18/2017 . and loaded $20 each onto them. We spent hours trying online to "register " the card and kept getting messages to try again later.

You can't get a human on the phone, the toll free numbers they provide tell you to put in the last four numbers of the card, and then your last 4 of your SSI number, then tell you the card is invalid. Then it tells you to go online !!!!

Dollar Tree Refuses to refund our $42.

We are ripped off, and very very angry. Terrible customer service. We bought the cards for SECURE ONLINE shopping and instead got ripped off by the very company we were trying to use for security !!!

I have a Walmart prepaid money card I went on the website and personalized my card. I had my taxes sent to the card on 02/22/2017. When I personalized my card they sent me a whole new account which I did not know. I contacted them because it would not let me access my funds. They told me it is two different accounts I asked how that happened they could not tell me I said okay, transfer the money from that account into the other account. We can't do that we will have to send you a new card in ten days. I asked to speak to a supervisor they said I had to have a valid reason to speak to a supervisor after being put on hold for 30 minutes the supervisor got on the phone and promptly hung up on me.

I called back and requested a supervisor again was put on hold for another half hour. I was then told that I could pay my bills out of the account but I could not get cash from the account. Then Kae the supervisor asked me well what do you need the money for? I told her it was none of her business I asked to close my account was told I could not close my account without waiting for a refund check for two weeks. I called Walmart, Visa, and Green Dot Bank at green dot I spoke with a condescending man the only thing he would give me was his name is David. He told me it was my fault the accounts were messed up and he would get me a card in three days he could not and would not tell me why they could not transfer it to the card I upgraded to.

They would not help me they wanted to know what I wanted to spend my money on this money was to make it to where I could give my sons a good birthday and to give my family a little financial freedom since my son shot himself in the head in January of 2016.I want an apology from the company for making me stress out when I have enough stress in my life.I want 1000.00 for my two sons having to cancel their birthday party. I missed 4 hours of work. They gave me a hundred credit and think that's enough.

Walmart contacted me at 730pm on Feb 25, 2017, and transferred some of my money. It had already ruined my sons birthdays we had to cancel their party and I was out a thousand in food and party room rental.

Green dot finally contacted me on Monday and transferred the rest of my money and gave me a 100.00 credit. Which is no way compensation for what they put me thru? Because they could and did transfer the money to the card that I had in my possession.

This was going to be a great birthday for my son because he tried to kill himself the year before and was in the hospital on his birthday.

they took out almost 8.00 for a monthly fee, went to use card could NOT. only have 1.82 left on card after they took 7.95.

I bought 9 green dot prepaid cards because I needed to make a payment of the amount of $4,500 in total for which I had to reload each one of my cards with $500. And make 9 different payments of $500. So I bought the cards and I reloaded them all with the $500 each and when I tried to activate my cards and register them under my name It didn't let me do it. Because it seemed that my cards were already registered for someone else. I keep all 9 cards and the receipts with me at the moment as my evidence. But when I call Visa and The Green Dot Bank they didn't help me out to get a refund of my money.

I was on the phone for over 2 hours speaking with different agents about my problem and they couldn't help one bit and called themselves professionals. They kept me on hold and transferring my calls from one agent to another until the phone dropped more than once. They never told me anything concrete regards how to get a refund of my money. I called to all nuweres I found to ask for help but none of my effort waa worthy enough to claim what's mine. Now I ask for the Green Dot Bank to refund me all my money and to find out what happened with my momey because what happened to me it a fraudulent action from them.

I made a purchace on Jtv Sunday Aug. 21st. The purchase was declined because I could not use a prepaid card for the type of purchase I wanted to make. On Monday moring I called JTV and I was told they had released my funds because there was no -transaction!! I called Green Dot was told it would take 24-48 hrs to repost to my card..

Wednesday still no money, so I call Green Dot back. The girl I talked to said my funds had not been relesed by JTV. I had called Jtv befiore calling Green Dot. She told me if I could get a fax@ JTV would fax the authorization release to them. Green Dot said they have no fax number. Really, a business with no fax! She told me that once they received my funds baxk they would credit it back by Sept.1. .

She went on to explain it{the money}would have to be processed before re.crediting it bavk to me. I said, in other words ya;ll will reccredite my money WHEN YOU GET d**n GOOD AND READY! She said YES MAM And I hubg up. Stupidity has no boundaries. Thurs NO Money, Friday morning same thing so I called Green Dot back on Friday afternoon. I thought maybe I would be able to talk to a supervisor. .

She told me 5 different times thar she COULD NOT ESCALATE THIS CALL TO A SUPER BECAUSE i HAVE ALL THEe INFO I NEEDED and my money would be available on Sept.1st. This money should have been credited back no later than August 23rd. As of today Sunday Aug/28th green dot is still holding my money.

I intend to file a complaint with Better Bussines Bureau, The Chamber of Commerce in Columbus and anywhwere else I can. The money is mine abd what green dot is doing is very un-professional! You are holding my money and truth be known I think you should pay interest on it for every day you have been illegally holding MY MONEY. SO FOLKS BEWARE WHEN YOU PURCHASE ONE OF THESE PREPAAID CARDS!
