I am reporting Greater Financial Resources because I find them to be a ripoff. Not because of what I heared or the reviews I have read; but because of what has happened to me.
I purchased a car through Indi Car Credit/Val-U-Car back in 02/2014. I paid my payments as scheduled and ontime. Not one time was I late or missed a payment.
Towards the end of my contract, when I was less that $1000.00 for paying off my loan, I received a call from Marvin about purchasing another vehicle, since i was such a valued customer.
According to Marvin, this vehicle could be purchased with no money down, no trade in, and a matter of fact, he offered to pay the balance of my old vehicle which was less that $1000.00. Since I was a good paying customer, according to Marvin, all I had to do was come to Gainsville, Fl to Indi Car Credit AKA Val-U-Car, and he would hook me up.
Well, by that time I was having problems with my first vehicle that I purchased from them. So, marvin's offer sound like a dream come true. Little did I know what kind of person/people I was actually dealing with, wolves in sheep clothing.
But anyway, I took marvin up on his offer. I took a trip to Gainsville, Fl, but little did I know when I got there the original deal we made over the phone had changed.
During the time when we were making the deal, I was informed that I would have to use my old vehicle as collateral. Well, I was less than $1000.00 paying off my old vehicle and receiving my title but by time they were finished, I had to sign a statement saying that I had to pay at least $3400.00 into the new vehicle, which was a 2010 Chevy Equinox, before I could get the title to my first vehicle.
Well, i ended up signing the agreement anyway bc I had drove over 3 hours for a vehicle and by that time, I was anxious and desperate for a vehicle. I signed the contract and kept my part of the deal.
I paid at least $3400.00 into the new just like I was instructed but I have not received my title. It has been one lie after another with this shady company. The guy marvin, which works or owns the finance company called me one Friday. He told me that he had personally put my title along with the other set of keys in an envelop in the mail that Friday morning. So, I figured I would give it a couple of days.
When Tuesday arrived, I received another call from Marvin@Greater Financial Resources. He called me to find out whether or not I had received the title in the mail. He already knew I hadn't received it because he didn't send it to me. It has been 8 days today and no title.
Not only have I not received my title, nor will Marvin@Greater Financial Resources speak with me. I have had the tax commissioner office in Georgia reach out to Marvin bc I was told that all he had to do was just fax them a notary copy of a lien release affidavit or form, and she would apply for me a title. But he hung up on her, this is how rude and hard to deal with, these person/people are.
I even called and spoke to someone name Karen that works at Indi Car credit/Val-U-Car. To be honest I think they all are in the same building. But when you ask them, they deny it. I asked Karen about my title. And she told me that she had mailed it off on 10/12/2017. Little did she know that Marvin had already lied and told me that he personally mailed it off to me on 10/13/2017. So, of course she tried to changed her story. Oh but too late because by then she was caught up in a lie. But she tried changing it anyway saying let me check my notes, then she comes back and say oh yeah, "I sent it to the finance company (Marvin @ Greater Financial Resources) on the 12th and he (Marvin) mailed it out on the 13th."
Well that was a lie. It does not take 7 to 8 days to receive mail from Gainsville, even though I live in Georgia. Even the post office where I live says it does not take that many days to receive mail. They said 2 to 3 days.
This company Greater Financial Resources is a RipOff. From researching the company, I find out that I am not the only person this has happened too. They have been reported to the BBB several times. Something needs to be done concerning this company. If not they will do and going to do the same to someone else. Because he (Marvin) knows enough about the law to know what he can and cannot get away with. And because there are no real laws put in place against this type of behavior, that would make this criminal and not a cival issue, it almost makes it legal to for blood suckers to swindle and take advantage of honest hard working people who are just trying to make a honest living. And you have these type of predators out there who prey on and seek out the weak and desperate.
This should be against the law. I am reporting these low-life scumbags to RipOff because people need to know what kind of bloodsuckers that out there. And they should not be allowed to get away with this type of behavior. Nor should they be able to practice this type of behavior with anyone.
