I have noticed a "system charge and state tax privileges on top of State Tax. The break down is to maintain the meter, pay for people driving around reading meters, office supplies, administration and so on for their office to operate. My electric bill came out to $46 some change then a smack of $40 of "system charge and "state privilege” charge. Normally, I would only pay $50 with PSE rate because I use less than 1k kw a month and there were no other fees beside the obvious taxes. My bill here in Grays harbor is twice more than PSE. Now that it’s getting cold, I could only have one heater on or if I want to risk getting the circuit to tripped, I use a portable heater and continue to run down the hall and flip back on. Oh, my whole apartment is running on one circuit! Meaning only one heater, three lights, and a tv on at a time or the whole unit will trip the circuit box. I don’t think it’s right for a company force customer to pay for their administrative supplies and rent.
