Grand Prix Motors Inc Reviews

  • Mar 8, 2016

We initially thought we had a fairly smooth and easy transaction here. The sales associates were not pushy and seemed to be personable and friendly. After quickly learning of the mechanical issues that were not disclosed to us before purchasing the vehicle, we learned soon after just how dishonest these employees are. Although there are limitations to our rights are with purchasing a used car, the dealership did in fact violate the federal trade commission act by lying and omitting information about the condition of the vehicle. After making attempts to contact the dealership and leaving messages, we had to file a complaint to get a response. The person we initially worked with claimed we never made attempts to contact them about the issues with the car and the inability to pass DEQ. This is false. Furthermore, after filing a complaint and writing a poor online review, they agreed to fix the issues only if we removed out complaints. We removed the poor review as a compromise, the BBB complainthe will remain open. After the car had been with a mechanic, they began to change their offer to fix the issues with the car and said they would only fix the issues that would allow it to pass DEQ. They did fix a larage portion of the problems but here is where it gets really frustrating. They authorized additional services to be done on the car without our consent. Then they blamed the mechanic and said the mechanic informed them that he spoke with us and we authorized the work. This is also false. The mechanic agreed with my spouse that we never had any such conversation, and advised us that the dealership authorized the additional services that they ended up refusing to pay for. If we want our money back, at this point we have to file paperwork and sue them in small claims court. Unfortunately due to the nightmare of an experience, this is our next planned step. I'm leaving out some additional details regarding additional lies and frustrating back and forth arguments, however please know that the steps the dealership took to hide the poor condition of the vehicle is infuriating. If you choose to go through this dealership, please make sure to spend the money on a full, thorough inspection before you purchase. Please read the yelp reviews and BBB complaints because we aren't the first buyers that this has happened to. Whatever seemingly great deal you think you're getting on a car is most likely not a good deal.
