Gosslee Property Management Reviews
My Brother, that I have Power of Attorney for, is a disabled combat veteran with precious little time left on this earth. He rented a property located at , Shreveport, LA from Gosslee Property Management in 2016. The agreement before moving in was to have the kitchen sink replaced as it was rusting and unsanitary, which could compromise his health. Gosslee refused to replace the sink after he moved in. Within the first month the dishwasher waste pump went out and after 3 calls to Gosslee no one responded and he had to replace the dishwasher at his expense because it was causing a sewage smell throughout the house. When we finally spoke to Gosslee again they said they would reimburse. To save money I installed the dishwasher he purchased from Lowe's to avoid an installation charge. Gosslee did not reimburse him for the dishwasher. For a total of 33 days throughout the 1 year lease the air conditioning unit was not working causing temperatures inside to spike between 84 and 93 degrees. Not only did this cost a lot more for electricity trying to cool the home, but he had to stay in a hotel for those 33 days when the air condition was not working, because he could have died from the heat in his condition and the medications he takes. Each time it took a threat of lawsuit to finally get the property owner and Gosslee to agree to fix the air conditioning unit. My brother also paid over $1,000 to improve the flower bed in the front of the home that was overgrown with weeds and briers at time of move-in, as well as to remove limbs, wood pallets and other trash piled in the backyard.
Gosslee sent a check for the deposit and subtracted $200 dollars for cleaning services that were not necessary, as the home was professionally cleaned at a cost of $225 to myself prior to completing move out. The dishwasher was not reimbursed. They also charged $126.04 for carpet cleaning and $45.00 for lawn maintenance despite the lawn being mowed just 10 days prior to move out. The invoice for the lawncare is dated 7/18/2017 and the lawn was mowed on 7/10/2017 for that invoice. We do not dispute the carpet cleaning as we did not have that service performed - though it seems odd that when he moved in they cleaned the carpets while he was moving in, versus having performed carpet cleaning after the previous tenant and this service was done more than 2 weeks after move out- 7/17/2017 according to the handwritten invoice.
This seems to be an ongoing issue with Gosslee based on reviews of this business on google and other sources.
