I was President of a small 7 unit town home addition. 5 units were owner occupied, and 2 units were rented out by their owners. I am only writing about my opinion of the experience I had. We hired them for full service, not just financial. We asked for bids on various projects which is really why we contracted with them. They had sold us on how they would do all of this work for us. They did do a couple of things - get bids on tree trimming and got our trees trimmed and fixed our gates. They also sent a few violation letters for us on one of the rental units.
But, it quickly became apparent that they dropped the ball on the majority of our work orders. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 months passed without action on many of our work orders. I also found that when we hired our own choice of contractor to do the work directly, they would state that they would reimburse us, but it was a fight to get them to do it. I was tired of fighting so many fires as President and feeling like I had to fight them too. I felt like we no longer could access our own HOA funds to get work done. We had some work that we needed to get done, and it was not completed by them, and they did not give us funds our funds to do it.
I finally gave up. It was really just the proverbial straw. They keep your HOA money promising everything, but are short on the delivery and keeping of their promises. They actually made things more difficult for me instead of being a help, and they made it feel like they were a hindrance and a brick wall to overcome. I really feel like they take advantage of HOA's who need help. They did say they would let us out of our contract, so that is the only positive.
When I vetted Chris Harrison concerning his property management company he made various assurances concerning providing stellar customer services, professional account managers, and 24 hr response times to any communications by homeowners.Has changed his tune, now saying 72 hrs is the "new timeframe" that requests are to be honored. What a shyster!! No shame at all on his part! After HOA board hired him , our experience has been horrifically abysmal. Homeowners trying up to 15 times to get a response from "account mgr" ,with no success! Miserable attitude by Harrison when confronted about his betrayal of the honest dues paying homeowners of this condo association. The man refuses to "come clean" and act professionally, now that his company, for the moment, has a contract. This man or his company are not to be trusted! Period.
