Good Greek Moving & Storage Reviews
Do not use these thieving movers ! You have been warned in detail. Read on : This company, run by an alleged former MIami police officer, floods the airwaves of southeast Florida, with constant TV and radio commercials, with a guy who calls himself Spero, who claims to be the most honest moving company around. A company that would not rip you off like the others companies he has witnessed. He even has a commercial that depicts a man demanding money from some customer at the last minute, a favorite ploy of moving companies. After watching these commercials, you would think this is the last company on earth to rip you off. Well they are just as bad or worse than other dishonest company out there. They play on people, making them feel they would never rip you off, but they will, and they did. On 7-25-23, their salesman Nick Merisiotis can to my house in Boynton Beach, FL., and I told him that I was moving to Ocala, FL. I told him that when I left NY in 2008, I needed an entire tractor trailer, and that I accumulated much more stuff in my 15 years in Florida. I told him I thought I needed 2 tractor trailers. He told me he thought I only needed 2 regular trucks, but if I needed more I could pay for a 3rd one. He said I would need to pay for a 3rd one ahead of time. He said if I didn't need the 3rd one, I wouldn't have to pay for it. He wrote up the contract for $9,075. This was based on 2 trucks. I paid him a $500 deposit through Zelle. Several weeks later I called him and told him I was going a shorter distance and asked him if the price was different. He said the price for 2 trucks would now be $8,500. He never sent a revised contract, and I trusted him about that. My first mistake with him. Several weeks before my move I called Nick telling him that I was pretty sure I needed 3 trucks. He told me the price for that would no be $10,995. He told me I would have to make payments in full by Zelle before that moving day. Again, no revised contract. My 2nd mistake with him. I paid $10,495 in the 2 weeks prior to my moving date of 9-25-23 through Zelle. Nick told me I was getting their "VIP" team of movers, and that they would be there on 9-24-23 to prepare the furniture, and then move me out on 9-24-23. On 9-23-23, the day before they were to show up, I get a text message from a guy named Dalton, telling me that I had to sign this contract, which stated that there was a $2,184.60 " Operational surcharge," as well as the previous verbally quoted price of $10,995. I called him and asked him why was this being sent to me the day before the movers were due, when they had this contract for almost 2 months. He lied and said they sent it to me as an email the week before. I told him I never got it. He lied again and said it must be in my spam folder. It was not there. Then asked him what this surcharge was for. He said not to worry about it, that it was just for their records, and that I would not have to pay it. It was not added to the final amount on the bill. Now I got suspicious, them sending me this the day before they were supposed to come. They did this purposely, because it's too late for you to get another mover. My 3rd mistake with them. The mover came on 9-24-23, with one truck. They said they would load half of the stuff, and return the next day for the balance. The foreman Alex said I would only need 2 trucks. The next day they did the final load and it fit in only 2 trucks. They never even brought a 3rd truck. They took off and I met them at my new house, about 3 1/2 hours away. I told Alex that every box was labeled with it's proper room, and that each room had a sticker on it with it's name. While they were unloading, I called Nick to ask for my $2,500 refund, since I didn't use the 3rd truck. He told me he would get back to me. He never called back. Several hours later I called their office asking for a supervisor, and told them him my story. This unnamed lier tells me that the 2 trucks were weighed and they were overloaded, and that they shouldn't have overloaded them, but they did this as a favor to me. I told him I had a firm contract price of $10,995 for 3 trucks, and it's not based on weight, and since I didn't need a 3rd truck, they owed me $2,500.. He told me someone else would get back to me. Then I asked the forman Alex if the trucks were weighed, and he told me no. When I told him what his office told me he was speechless. Then I called back the office, got a woman who confirmed that the trucks were never weighed. Then a series of people called me and texted me, including Nick, each one told me another lie, trying to justify keeping my $2,500. Finally Nick called me back telling me he would try to get me some discount back. I told him I would not settle for one dollar less than the $2,500 they owed me. I never got back a dollar from them. I will be suing them in Palm Beach Civil Court, and exposing them to the residents of southeast Florida. As for the "VIP" team of movers they sent me, it was a joke to call them that. Only the foreman Alex spoke perfect English, one spoke a very broken English, and the other 2 spoke no English at all. I told Alex that every box was labeled with it's proper room, and that each room had a sticker on it with it's name. The scattered my 270 boxes all over the house, about 30 % were in wrong rooms. This I didn't find out until they left. Then I found they broke a marble coffee table that was bubble wrapped by me and blanket wrapped by them.. They stole a box with all of my drills, and a box with kitchen pots. This was my surprise days after they left. After they were finished, I was going to give each one a generous tip of $100 each. I explained to Alex what his company was doing to me, and that I was in no mood for giving out tips now. They were all looking at me for a tip. I told Alex it wasn't his fault or mine, and that if the company refunded my money, I would send him a check for him and his workers, since I had his cell number. He looked sad and guilty, but I was not giving out anymore money that day. I told him his company screwed him as well. In short, this company is the biggest bunch of lying conniving thieves in the moving business. The owner plays on the claim that he is a retired police officer to make you think he is very honorable. He has trained his staff to lie and steal from you. If this guy was a police officer, he must have been a very corrupt one. I would love to see his personnel l file. I too am retired from law enforcement, and a guy like this would have been fired or forced to resign from my job. And I told them at the office who I was, and they didn't care one bit. Then I finally looked up reviews of them, and was shocked to see so many horrible reviews that I should have seen 2 months prior. My 4th mistake with them. Until I get my money back I will do my best to file complaints, bad reviews, and expose them to the residents of southeast Florida. For stealing my money, they will surely lose much more in business. He's paying millions in advertising and ripping us off to pay for it. If I don't get even with Spero, God will get even with him.
