I have filed a grievance with the State Attorney General's Office in California in regards to GOAT's buying practices. It has come to my attention that GOAT tells customers that their products are used, worn or damaged when they are clearly brand new, both the actual shoe and box they came in. They then opt to send them back for a fee of course or consign them...that, by law, is fraud.
When a customer sends in a BRAND NEW product and then send back pictures to the customer claiming they are worn and shoe signs of dirt on them, that is something that is going on shady within GOAT. Eddy Lu you need to go back to your beginnings and take a hard look at your business practices. Do the right thing! Further filing will be taking place over the next few days.
I sent in a pair of Yeezy Carbon 350 V2s for authentication. Received an email showing me a picture of them with the tiniest little smudge on one of the soles. A smudge that had not been there before. If you zoom in you can just barely see it. This is something that could be taken off with zero effort. What's more I was not responsible. This happened in their possession. This was likely done so that they could force me to sell the product for a discount, or give it to them to sell on consignment (they gave that as an option).
I declined and they sent me an invoice so I can pay them to send it back to ME. In short, I sent a shoe in pristine condition to be sold and now I'm spending more money to get the shoe back with a smudge on it. I have never been so disgusted with the actions of a company in my life. I have been selling in person for some time now. I was testing various apps to see what worked best for online sales. Needless to say these clowns are going to be losing a lot of potential business from shady practices like this. If you are in the reselling business, DO NOT SELL ON GOAT. Go to StockX, eBay, Poshmark, etc. Do not even think about doing business with these guys. They will rip you off.
Delay shipping the shoes for weeks while they ignore your messages telling them that if the shoes don't arrive by X date, to cancel the order because they will be useless to you after that date.
When they finally ship weeks late, you return the box unopened, because as you said, you don't need them anymore.
When the shoes arrive at their facility, they will refuse the return claiming they are "used."
They will not reply to your customer support messages. When they do, they only send form letters. "I'm sorry, this has been escalated to a supervisor."
After finding the Nike Foamposite Gym Red shoes on an Internet search, on 6 Apr 19, I sent an email to [email protected] letting them know I was interested in purchasing them. Because I was concerned that someone would sell used shoes as if they are new, I asked to see photos of the insoles and soles of both shoes and the box before buying them.
On 7 Apr 19, Patrick S. (GOAT Support) replied to my email saying, "If the shoes are Brand New, they should look like and appear in the same condition as the ones in the stock photos, unless indicated otherwise. The sellers are also required to indicate the condition of the box. If they are not as described, we will notify you and issue a full refund during authentication.
Please let us know if you have other questions or concerns." On 7 Apr 19, I wrote, "Are you the seller or is there a third party selling these shoes?" Patrick S. replied, "The shoes come from our expansive network of thoroughly vetted sellers that are located all over the United States. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you need anything else!" I replied, "So if the shoes aren't what the seller claims, what does a full refund during authentication look like? A credit back to my credit card or something else? I've seen dozens of sellers selling cleaned up used shoes as new. I've seen dozens of sellers selling shoes so worn that the logo is worn off the insole as new."
Julie O. (GOAT Support) replied, "If the sneaker is not as described, we will issue a full refund back to your original form of payment. Let us know if you have any other concern." I replied, "Can you please ask the third-party seller to provide actual photos of the shoes not stock photos?" On 8 Apr 19, Julie O. replied, "If the shoes are Brand New, they should look like and appear in the same condition as the ones in the stock photos, unless indicated otherwise. The sellers are also required to indicate the condition of the box. Please let us know if you have other questions or concerns." With that assurance, I bought them on 8 Apr 19 for $ 400.
The GOAT order email said, "Your order is being sent to GOAT for authentication by our specialists. Once authenticated, we'll quickly ship it your way." They were delivered on the a.m. on 17 Apr 19. I got home around 6:10 p.m. Upon opening the box I saw that they were not new. They were worn so much that the "Air" imprint on the insoles of both shoes was worn off. Also, there is dried dirt on the outsole of one of them. GOAT claims to have "authenticated" the shoes are what the seller claims.
The GOAT website said they were "NEW" and the box "badly damaged." The s****.>
On 17 Apr 19 at 7:31 pm I sent an email to GOAT describing the email exchanges between me and GOAT Support prior to my purchase. I attached 3 photos of the insoles showing signs of a lot of wear and to prove there is dried dirt on the outsole of one of them. I wrote, "I could be wrong but, in my opinion, these shoes could not have been authenticated by anyone at GOAT. If someone had opened the box and actually looked at the insoles of the shoes they would have immediately known that these shoes are NOT NEW; they are USED.
If someone at GOAT had looked at the outsoles of the shoes they would have seen dried dirt and knew that they shoes had been worn. They would have known these shoes are NOT NEW." The last GOAT rep offered store credit. Store credit does no good when GOAT has no shoes I want in my size (17). I want a full refund back to my original form of payment because these shoes are not as described.
I don't want a "store credit" because I don't want to do business with a company that claims to "authenticate" shoes as new before they go out in the mail when, in fact, my guess is that no one looked at the shoes to see that they were not in NEW condition. I'm fully prepared to take legal action to get a full refund back to my original form of payment because these shoes are not as described.
I bought from goat.com for the first time i was curious and was trusting that if i bought from them i would not get rip off,by getting a fake sneaker or damage pair.
Well that trust went out the garbage i order the shoe i waited seller to ship to goat waited for authentication 10 day i waited. On the 23 oct 2018 received sneakers i open box notice nike box was crushed and ripped took out shoes vapormax max glue on tip of shoe disalined on heel meets air bubble, then notice rip on left tongue of shoe yea they are legit but a nike factory reject.
Ive emailed them for two days with no answers i definitely got rip off by GOAT.COM dont buy from them or you will be sorry.
First, you will receive an email stating that GOAT will verify the shoes are legit, not fake, and not damaged, and GOAT will text/email you pics before they ship the shoes to you.
Sounds great ... but wait:
What you will get is a pic of a damaged box, but the shoes will be fine. Why? B/c GOAT wants you to say, 'wow what a great service ...."
THEN to proceed (you thinking they are such a great company), you MUST download their app. That's right, YOU MUST download their app. No phone number to call, and only a robot email response saying, download our app to discuss further. (The company wants to brag it's worth by stating how many people use it's app ....)
The company is a total fraud, the pics are designed to make you think wow what a big, great operation, but it is a small operation, computer-text driven, and will lie to you from the beginning ...
case in point: GOAT will damage the box, then photo that for you, to make you say 'wow I really need this service ....' (Like the corner glass shop that pays a kid to go break windows at night to generate business the next day!)
I bought shoes from there online store, however, the shoes condition was not good. I sent them an email and they responded to me at first. They told me they will send me back within 2 days. But they still have not get back to me yet, I looked at return policy and it mention that I could rerun back within 3 days the day I get it. I have been emailing them everyday since I got the shoes.
I bought shoes through their GOAT app only to recieve a pair that were damaged. I have picutres of the shoes (see below) when they were opened on Christmas day. Order# 41243411
And then I was charged for a pair of shoes I never even ordered. Order# 81344145
I want to be refunded all the money I was charged and I want to send back Order# 41243411 - I will not accept Order# 81344145 They will be denied at my residence when they try to deliver them.
I have tried many times in the last 72 hours to get in contact with someone at GOAT and have had absolutley zero response. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with these CROOKS!
I ordered a pair of sneakers for my teenage son for Christmas. Less than a week later I received the following email:
Hey @XXXXX,
We regret to inform you that the seller canceled your order #xxxxxxxx for the XXXXXXXXXX.
A warning was sent to the seller.
$XXX.XX has been refunded to your XXXXXXXXXXX. Please allow 2-3 business days for the banks to process the funds.
We're sorry these didn't work out. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at [email protected].
Thanks for your understanding,
GOAT
Oddly enough, I was able to find the same, hard-to-find sneakers on their website at a slightly=escalated price. Seems shady to me. If it is the seller, GOAT should have policies in place that ban this type of activity altogether. "Warning" the seller doesn't really cut it.
I doesn't surprise me to find so many consumers questioning the legitimacy of goat.com.
I bought a pair of yeezys for 670.00 all of a sudden they are lost in the mail, some clowns mainly nando and abagail take hours to respond, they have no number so you cant call them, it took a whole month for them just to give me my credit back to get another pair of shoes, now when i use the credit they dont update me on the status of my order and refuse to anwser! dont spend your money here, better off searching ebay these guys are a ripoff!!
I place a order for my husbands birthday and waited almost three weeks for a resolution from a person named (NANDO) who I guess is the professional they hired to not give there money away. And to fight there customer claims. First he told me he would be filling a claim with UPS and it was nothing he could do I reached out to him pleading it's my husbands gift could they send a replacement and he denied me stating now that UPS WANTS A POLICE REPORT!! What I was shocked! I called the police and was laughed at and told its not there problem I then told (NANDO) what happened and he once again insisted that I get police report. So I went in to police station and explained to police what was going on and I needed this report to get resolution and the officer was nice and got me the report I then sent the report back to (NANDO) who then complained about the pictures not being in a PDF file only to several pictures sent he then finally gave me a store credit.
Only to block me from placing a order stating through a co-worker named (Thomas) that I needed to now send a picture of my credit card or they would cancel my new order . And now I've spent all weekend trying to place a order to be denied processing I contacted my Bank and PayPal and all is fine I even have correspondence from Goat Support saying I could use my PayPal or Affirm account if I didn't choose to send them photos of my credit card..DO NOT USE THIS APP THERE RIPP OFF
