This is a courtesy report to anyone considering investing in, doing business with or associating with PlayAPI, Ted Owen, former co-founder & CEO of Global Gaming League (GGL) and Professional Interactive Entertainment, Inc. and Brett Hawkins, co-founder of Global Gaming League (GGL). and Michael S. Traylor, Esq. lawyer and legal counsel.
Short version, do so at your own risk and don't be surprised if you end up getting scammed, sued, left unpaid or otherwise taken advantage of. These individuals have a long history of pumping up hype around their ventures, most notably in the eSports and professional gaming industry, raising money, failing to execute through gross incompetence (ask any former employee) and leaving investors, vendors, and employees holding the check. This is a pattern of these morally bankrupt individuals that spans, literally, decades. A simple Google search on many of their names and business will confirm.
PlayAPI appears to be the most recent example in this sad pattern. Ted Owen is at it again, it would seem, although Brett Hawkins is not currently named, it would not surprise anyone if he does end up getting involved again. Michael Traylor, the attorney who helped them avoid having court ordered funds removed from their accounts by sheltering company funds in his own private bank accounts, would also not be a surprise. By working repeatedly with the same inner circle of morally corrupt individuals, they can be assured that at upper levels of management their dishonesty and corruption will not be flagged, and they can keep the rest of their investors, vendors and employees ignorant of what's actually going on until it is too late, and they can hide behind bankruptcy (again).
If you are a prospective investor, vendor or employee of Ted Owen, Brett Hawkins, or anyone else associated with management at PlayAPI, GGL, Global Gaming League, Professional Interactive Entertainment Inc, do yourself a favor and run the other way. The information is out there on these people, and you will have nobody to blame but yourself when you end up not getting calls returned, invoices unpaid, paychecks bouncing etc.
