Global Tech Squad Inc. Reviews

This establishment fired me for the sole purpose that the people I waited on ordered water to often. Also the the business encourages employees to sell drinks by any means necessary even promising a cash reward for the person who sells the most drinks. Lastly they do not treat all employees fairly and the management often displays favoritism towards certain employees.

When I turned on my computer on Monday, October 17, 2017, I received a message that my computer had been infected with spyware and Malware. Global Tech Squad Inc was also on the screen with a telephone number. I contacted them and spoke with a person who identified himself as "Josh Matthews"and they tried to sell me a $199 one-year protection plan. When I declined the coverage they took over the computer. My concern is that they accessed the hard drive on my computer that had confidential information on it. When I asked them how they accessed my computer they hung up on me. This company is dishonest and needs to be put out of business.

I needed help with connecting Roku and found a web site that looked like Roku. After calling John said he needed to connect to my computer to get into my modem to check it for proper operation. I said i just call spoke with phone company and they did not need to do that, he insisted there was an issue with the back end and could only access it thru my computer. After allowing this he seemed to know what to do and found the modem file quickly. after a while we unplug modem, unplug tv etc let sit for a while as i run from room to room to do this, then i find him looking into other files he has no place being and i tell him so. He then proceeds to look at and make comments about my antivirus programs. Then he needs to speak to his manager because after a while nothing was working and his manager i assume said it may be the firewall not allowing things to connect, DUMB me i should have followed my instincts right there. the turns off fire wall on modem and windows, still nothing work then he says we nee few more hours, i say thats crazy, all this to hook up roku no way something not right, I tell him will contact modem company to help set up i do not want to do ant thing else, he says fine and click. I go to close files and a few popups come on sayng computer is infected and in danger this number etc. and screen locks up. I unplug and take it to my computer guy... another life lesson hope someone can learn from this.

I support a large number of SMBs (Small to Medium-Sized Businesses), so I see all sorts of phishing and hack attempts. For the most part, my clients are reluctant of messages that prompt for action, so we are lucky. However, a residential client of mine called me today because she was concerned about a recent popup message she received on her laptop. The message warned her that her hard drive was about to crash and that she should call some number immediately.

Once she got that far into the story, I was immediately worried! She went on to tell me that the agent 'helped' her walk through 'fixing' her PC, and talked her into paying $180.00 for some 'two-year agreement'. I've heard of scum bags like this before, but sometimes the scams they try to pull are not completely. However, I am certain this company was trying to take this scam to the next level.

They went on to tell her that in order to help her, they needed a copy of her driver’s license! When they said this, she got nervous and hung up. (Good Job!!!). However, they continued to call her for several days. When she finally picked up, they talked their way into 'helping' her again. About an hour into the session, they asked for more money, so she hung up and finally called me!

A few other things that make me believe these are crooks:

They told her that her current anti-virus was not good enough, but they left it installed! For $180, she should have got whatever they supposedly resell.

Again – They asked her to scan her driver’s license and send them a copy!!!!

They called her relentlessly for several days!

They put Supremo on. Probably not a terrible thing, but I’m pretty sure they had her PW

They wanted more money.

So, I have her laptop, but I don't see any nefarious just yet. I will keep digging.
