I am writing this to let people find out ahead of time what I found out the hard way. GlobalHotel.com exists strictly to gouge customers who don't know it.

First: the fact that they splash Orbitz all over their site and product, it is NOT Orbitz and you are not getting Orbitz rates.

Second: If you found them, like I did, through a discounted gift card rate, don't think you found a bargain. I was hoping to combine some discounted cards, but found that only one $50 card is redeemable per transaction, a whopping $5 savings, before you get gouged for hundreds.

Third: The website looks and feels like it was built in the 1990's. Clunky. You put in the name of the country you are going and then it asks for the city, though rather than give you a drop down menu, you type it in and hope that 1) there is avaialbility and you aren't just wasting your time and 2) it's spelled exactly right. One mistake, and all of your input information is dumped and you start over.

Fourth: I had been looking at multiple ranges of hotels in many cities when I eyeballed their rates and missed how out of line they were. They have a long matrix of different rates, which helps masks the real pricing difference. These rates are not just a few dollars off, they are 50% - 75% more. In my case, just by skipping them to book a Hilton hotel that is not particularly expensive for its class, saved me $200 going to the Hotel website instead. That's $200 that they almost gouged me with for a short stay.

Their practices are deceptive and uncouscionable. They need to go out of business. Pick any other booking service or the hotel directly over these scammers. You will save money, without a doubt.

AWFUL!

If I could rate with a zero I would. Made a booking on May 18th, 2020 and called two days prior to my reservation to add another night. Global Hotel could do nothing to help me and told me to call Expedia. Called Expedia explained to the lady 3-4 times I had booked under a gift card/promo code for $100 off. She didn't use the gift card, nor did she tell me for the gift card to be used, I would have to re-book using the website in order to use my gift card to get the $100 off. So, in trying to save money, now I'm having to pay full price, because I can't wait for my visa card to be refunded because due to COVID the refund time is 30 days. So now I'm having to pay full price.

Took me talking to nine different people, calls being dropped as I was transferred and three hours later learning I had to go to Global Hotel website to the green help button to submit a help ticket to have my promo code refunded to use at a later time. Awful service and experience. I will NEVER use this card again!

It's find if you don't have to make any changes. But if you do, look out. I wished I could rate no stars.

Trying to use the card

Been trying to make a reservation all weekend with no luck and these reviews are making me nervous..I keep getting a Booking Failed notice despite the fact that I have tried different back up credit cards, different dates and even a different hotel..No luck with customer service but giving the benefit of the doubt that I will reach someone during the week..

Run!

Use any available alternative to this website. Do not even try this. It is shady. I only came across global hotel card.com because my employer gave me a gift certificate. I will warn you that the booking experience is difficult. My voucher code was rejected numerous times, so I called the "customer service" line and was routed to Expedia, who had no idea how to assist me. They did finally provide me with a number for global hotel card.com. I called and as not able to proceed to a rep. without a reservation number. I did not have a number to provide, as my question was about a rejected code. I then emailed customer service and never heard back. Fortunately, I tried again later, and my code was accepted that time, but not without a lot of hassle. I still haven't heard back from customer service. I will never use this site again.

Worst hotel booking site I have found!

These cards are worth about half of what they say. And you only get the choice of about 6 hotels in a large townfor the double price. Don't bother trying to call them, because they have only automated phones. I ave tried this now and over a year ago. Today, I need to talk to a person because the first card that I put in will not work and it is a full $100 card. I have tried multiple phone #s and pushed every # button for every extension. So, it lookd like I am out $100. Not ORBITZ prices. About twice that!!!! Don't get these cards. It is a scam!!!
