We selected Global Floor Designs out of 5 contractors for hardwood floors we interviewed. Mathew Hunt seemed extremely knowledgeable and very personable at first. He promised that the second-floor hardwood floor install would be done in about 2 weeks. Those two weeks turned into three months as the comedy of shoddy work and major errors caused him to redo and redo again (3 times). For a person that has been licensed since 1997 (that's what he claims and was also on his website, but CSLB says licensed since 2013) the sheer magnitude of his amateur work is mind boggling. We had 5 separate industry experts come and they did a post-mortem analysis of what it would cost to fix these errors. They could not believe that a professional would do such a horrible amateur job. And to top it off, he still has not returned our house keys which he says he lost.... BEWARE.
WE gave him THREE chances to fix his joke of work, but didn't succeed. So we let him go.
There are plenty of outstanding installers out there. We were the unlucky ones.
