I have been a member of the legal services plan with the New York State United Teachers for over 5 years now. The services provided me by the New York law firm of Feldman, Kramer & Monaco has always been first rate. Glantz & Glantz is the law firm designated for the state of Florida and its services (or lack of services) have been abysmal to put it mildly. When my mother passed away in Ocala and her will went into probate, the firm was supposed to arrange representation for me.
They referred me to 3 different local lawyers affiliated with them because their office was too far away, The first two lawyers never returned my calls. The third said that they weren't taking any more cases at this time. When I called back for another referral or legal advice, a lawyer would call me back, ask me some questions, and say they would get back to me with the answers. That return call never happened, Eventually they just stopped returning my requests for information or referrals completely and stopped answering my e-mails.
All this, and they're still collecting fees from me for the legal services plan while providing no services whatsoever. This is failure to advocate and just plain fraud. They're a Florida law firm but refuse to take my case, and so do their affiliates, with no real explanation. Simply speaking, they are lazy. I see no reason why this firm should remain in the Florida bar, they're dodging work.
