I have had an account with Ginnys for a few years. And the account was fine when the balance stayed under $100. Please note here, that Ginnys, Montgomery Wards, Seventh Ave, Stoneberry and probably several more all use the same credit company.
After Christmas and a move, my credit limit was nearly maxed. That's around $1500. In July, I made my payment and got an email confirmation that the payment was made and thank you and blah blah. In August when I looked at the account it said my account was past due from the previous month and I owed twice the payment. I called them, made the payment, went on with my day. Same thing happened again in August. This time I deleted my payment info and re-entered it, in case something had happened to my debit card information. I called them, made the payment again, got on with my day. Now here's the thing....I also have accounts with Montgomery Ward. Did have accounts with seventh ave and stoneberry which are now paid off. I paid all of these companies at the same time!!! Same day, same time, every single month. The only one that ever had a problem, was Ginnys.
So here we are in September...made the payment on time, early in fact on September 15th. Got the email, thanks for your payment, been received. Looked at it today and guess what?? Yep....says I didn't make my payment and owe twice as much. So now I'm furious. I call them....for the third...the third time.
This is what I got....yep, we see you tried to make the payment. Nope, we don't know why it doesn't go through. Nope, we can't close the account. So you will be making another payment Friday then?? No we didn't call you or email you or send you a letter to let you know the payment wasn't received, but we don't report to the credit bureau unless you go into collections. Well now...genius....about the first time I don't check on my account I will be in collections now won't I????????
It's unfair, it should be illegal. Do not use this company. If you have to have a catalog type company to shop through, use Fingerhut. I know I'm gonna.
