Received a $50 gift card as an incentive - was told to immediately register it - in case of loss or theft. Followed the instructions - Today I went to use it and note that it has no balance.
I called the number on the website and the agent said that as soon as it was registered they began deducting a fee and the fee ate up the entire balance. When I said gift cards are not supposed to expire the agent advised - it didn't expire it just no longer has a balance.
This is a scam - the retailer or consumer or business purchases a gift card and pays for it - the company advises them to tell the individual to register immediately - - and they take the money back - - - OR IN OTHER WORDS - - DOUBLE DIPPING and the recipient ends up with nothing.
I do not think this is the way an incentive for the consumer is supposed to work - - RECIPIENTS BEWARE
COMPANIES INCENTIVIZING THEIR EMPLOYEES OR COMPANIES INCENTIVIZING THEIR CUSTOMERS - - BEWARE - - THIS IS A SCAM
NO ONE IS RECEIVING AN INCENTIVE JUST THE CARD ISSUER WHO IS TAKING THE MONEY - AT ISSUANCE AND THEN FROM THE RECIPIENT.
Received Visa giftcard for a gift and never used. Went to use today and was informed there is $0 balance due to not using. My children gave the card to me for a gift and now it is worth nothing! There should be a law against fees on giftcards if not used. A service fee was assessed at time of purchase.
I went to use the remainder of my Gift2Go Visa Gift Card and found out that after the first charge the balance of the card was lost to monthly fees. Please do not buy Gift2go cards or take them as any type of benefit from another company. If you do get one, use it in one payment which exhausts the entire balance of the card.
I live in New York where it is illegal to charge a monthly service fee, yet when I went to check the balance, it was zero. Company would not even help me because I do not know the original balance, which was part of a rebate from something I purchased in the past. This is a total scam.
