I think my story will be very similar to everyone else’s on George Grover. I pulled up to Lowe’s and he came up to me and said "Hey, I own three home theater stores and we have sold several home theater systems and because of this the 10th one is thrown in for free. We are trying to make some quick cash and are you interested in a home theater system?". Unfortunately being the sucker that I am, and the fact that I was currently looking at a home theater projectors...i was suckered in. He produced several brochures and literature indicating the value in the current sales price of the projectors and indicated that he had shown and installed several of these recently including showing me pictures of what they look like installed. Even offered to help come install it for me. He indicated that he had three physical stores including one in Asheville, North Carolina, one outside Atlanta, As well as one in Charlotte, North Carolina.

He even pulled up a website and eBay showing the current listing price is in what they’re being sold for. Unfortunately all of these are fake. I paid $400 for what he tried to sell me originally for $800. Once I got home, it was clearly an inferior product. Certainly did not project the quality of picture it was described. There was little functionality to it and it would not connect. The box had no serial number. The box also did not contain all of the items that were reported to have in it on the side box. He had given me a business card which surprisingly did have his phone number, and but once contacted he would not i qucklu began to panic and stared to lookhim up and he and this projector popped up all over the place. When i told him i wanted a refund he essentially taunted me and said that I was a sucker. Unfortunately this is a scam...and i fell for it. I reported him to the police. Hopefully they will be able to do something. But i hope nobody else falls for this.

Pulled up next to me in Home Depot parking lot on Shallowford and said he had 2 extra home theatre sets received when his store bought 10 of them. Selling at 80% discount (fortunately I only paid half that) and would come and install. Told me to text him to set up installation. I should have texted him right then before exchanging cash or at least Googled his store but too stupid to think straight. He actually followed me into the bank so maybe they have pictures inside or in parking lot. Got a fake receipt but has his so-called signature on an invoice so some additional fraud going on. I'll get someone to authenticate the true value but based on the other posts here I am certain it is not what I paid. Not sure what crime he comitted other than selling merchandise different than how it was described but Buyer Beware I guess.

This guy says his name was george Grover. Had a couple new home theater systems with a story saying they were left over and he could sell them.

made it sound like they are the greatest thing you can get etc...

he tried to get $400 from me but I said I couldnt do more than $200. He ended up getting $220.

after getting home and looking at it closer it isnt bluetooth and doesnt have wireless speakers like he said. Basically its a piece of junk as far as I am concerned. I hope people see this and don't get screwed like I did.

George Grover and a white bald man driving a white Tahoe approached me and my 11 year old daughter in the Lowes parking lot. He asked if I was interested in buying a home theater system. At first I said I could not afford it because I just bought a house. He then proceeded to park and show me the products. He was a very smooth talker and very convincing about the system. After going back and forth he convinced me to take the system from him. We went to an Atm and got $1000 to pay for the system. After I got it home is when I found out this guy was a scammer. I felt so stupid and violated. I was out $1000 and I really didn't have it to spend. Not to mention my wife was furious when I told her about what happened. I suffer from PTSD and mental illness so the decision to buy just happened. I make stupid decisions all the time but this was the most costly one. Just wanted to let the people know. Do not talk to anyone offering you a deal that's too good to be true.
