I purchased a free 15 day trial sample of a skin cream, Genesis Renewal, where I needed to pay the shipping cost only. I made this purchase on Feb 2, 2017. The confirmation email indicated receipt of the request for the sample. The internet home page did not state the terms and conditions, nor had a link to terms and conditions.
The confirmation emails I received on Feb 3, 2017 did not include any terms or conditions. When the 15 day sample was received on Feb 13, 2017 the contents of the package did not include either the costs for continued bottles of the products or the terms and conditions. Upon receiving my credit card statement on March 7, 2017 I noticed two unauthorized purchases billed on Feb 18, 2017. When I called the business they informed me that I had not looked at the right web page!!! That there was another webpage that referenced the terms. How is the consumer to know that the business has a public web page and a hidden web page? On the phone the representative stated I had to call and cancel within 10 days of ordering the product. Surprise surprise I didn't even receive the product until the 10th day. The package never indicated that the product sent was a full 30 day product not a 15 day sample and therefore they felt justified to charge an outrageous amount for the product without authorization. They refused to refund me for the unauthorized purchase!! I called again on March 8, 2017 and was told the same information. I am concerned not only for my cost but I imagine many consumers are hurt by this deceptive practice.
