They tried to get me to call them to cancel a subscription and ten they asked for my baking information to return the funds. They asked me to log onto teamviewer so they could electronically transfer while I was on the call. They hung up when I told them I was from the DA's office.
I received an email purported to be from Amazon Support from [email protected]. That made me suspicious immediately. It was concerning an automatic renewal of an annual Norton Antivirus subscription for $379.99.
I called the 808 number on the email and spoke to them. they tried to direct me to a website address. I asked where the person was located and he said California. I asked if he was a scammer and he immediately hung up the telephone.
If I had an annual subscription of this program why wasn't I billed directly from the company?
At least three times I have received through texts on my cell phone in the last 2 months from "Geek Squads": "Dear Subscriber, your support plan will renew today. You will be charged for $299.99. To cancel us at the above phone number.
I do not have a Support plan with Geek Squads!! So far I have they have not charged my credit cards and they are driving me nuts with constantly checking and re-checking them.
Can anything be done to scare the hell out these scam artists???!!!
